Start your day trip to Essaouira from Marrakech with a drive along the Haouz planes to Chichaoua village where you will rest with a cup of delicious coffee before continuing on to Sidi Mokhtar. On your way, you will cross through a forest of Argan trees. Stop and take some photos before you carry on your journey. Visit a local cooperative and learn how some fine cosmetic products are locally made out of the rich Argan oil. Watch how Argan oil (also called liquid gold, or Moroccan oil) is extracted. Learn more about this cooperative which was created as part of the national program to improve the socio-economic development of rural women. From here, carry on to Essaouira. Upon arrival, you will explore the beautiful city at your leisure. Exploring Essaouira is easy on your own: locals are very friendly, the Medina is pretty small, and its streets are in order. You definitely do not need a guide for the tour of the city. However, if you want one your driver will help you hire a local guide for the tour of the city. First, you can visit the harbor with its fishing port and old Portuguese fortifications. You can still see medieval war cannons aligned in order to overlook the Atlantic Ocean. Stop and have a delicious and relaxed lunch at one of the many restaurants, before being escorted back to Marrakech by your professional driver.

First, head towards the river with your faithful companion and discover the ruins of the old palace of the sultan Mohammed III, who revived the fortunes of the city when he invited Jews and the English to trade there. Continue along the sandy beach and get stunning views of the Portuguese castle on Mogador island in the Atlantic Ocean. Return to the ranch through the forest for the end of the services.

Your surfing adventure starts at the local tour operator’s water sports store. Meet your guide for the day and get kitted out with all the necessary equipment you’ll need. Then head onto the beach where the real fun begins! If you’re a beginner, your guide will first help you focus on how to balance and pop up from your board to your feet. Learn about understanding the waves and how to catch the right wave at the optimum moment for a good surf. Then it’s time to work on your posture and stance to extend your ride on the board. If you’ve already got some surf experience, the lesson will be tailored to your level. Explain to your instructor the level of surf experience you have and then focus on your objectives for the session to perfect your skills.

We will meet you outside of the Argana Cafe at 8:30 am or arrange to pick you up from your hotel/riad, then we will take a 3-hour journey to the beautiful seaside town of Essaouira. In 90 minutes, we will make a rest stop at a café where you can grab a bite to eat and stretch your legs. On our second stop you will be able to photograph the legendary goats climbing in argan trees, followed by a brief visit to a women’s cooperative and learn how a range of fine cosmetic products are locally made. Once we arrive at our destination, you can explore the sights of the beautiful city and its sprawling beach at your leisure. We will depart Essaouira around 4:30 pm, arriving back in Marrakech at around 8:00 pm.
