From Marrakesh: Essaouira Day-Trip with Sunset Camel Ride
- Small group
- Transportation included
- Duration: 10 hours
We were driven to Essaouira by Aymane for a day trip. He was prompt in picking us up from our accommodation. We made arrangements with the agency, Click Excursions, via e-mail and all went smoothly. During the drive, Aymane happily obliged to a quick coffee stop on the way as we have not had our breakfast, due to the early pick up time (8 AM). We also stopped to see the goats on the Argan trees, to have a quick look around a women's Argan oil cooperative, and to see the whole of Essaouira from a viewpoint. We were dropped off in Essaouira at around 12:00 NN. We walked around the Medina, visited an art gallery, had lunch near the square, then had ice cream whilst walking along the beach. We were then picked up to drive back to Marrakech at 16:30 PM. Aymane was very helpful, giving us recommendations for our trip, sharing history or background information regarding our stops and Morocco in general.
We had an amazing trip to Essaouria with our tour guide Karim. The night before we were at a wedding until very late and we were so tired that we didn't want to go. But the trip was totally worth it!! First, Karim was an awesome guide! He was so chill, knowledgeable, and had traveled all around the world on amazing adventures. His stories were entertaining, to say the least! :D We stopped to snap a photo of the goats in the tree. When we got to Essaouira, we ate at a local cafe that served bread and the yummiest and most natural butter and honey. Then we checked out the beach with camels and kiteboarders. But due to the windy conditions, we settled on a more protected break and surfed for hours. Afterwards, we explored the town, which was beautiful and historical and down to earth. On the ride home, we stopped to watch the Fantasia for awhile. Both my husband and I LOVED it! <3
Frankly, this was one of the most amazing tours I've ever had in my life. Said Zaoui was a very personable, fun and knowledgeable guide and shopping together at the local markets, taking a walk through the narrow streets and then having lunch and tea together was just a very unique experience that we're going to remember for a long time. We loved being taken off the beaten paths a little (the Jewish Quarter was really worth visiting) and in general the day felt just like a stroll with a friend. The tour takes longer than three hours (I think it was more than 5 hours in fact) but we weren't bored for one minute. We only had very limited time in Essaouira and taking this tour helped to make our short stay very special.
It was a worthy trip! Our driver was careful. We had s very calm and relaxing road trip with a well-prepared playlist. During the trip Aymane gave us information about culture and history of Morocco. We stopped to see goats “climb” in one tree! I personally didn’t fancy the moment but after Aymane exploration I enjoyed playing with a little baby goat that was On the ground. We also stopped in an argan oil, very interesting. When we arrived in Essaouira, our driver gave us some tips to get lost in the coastal city and enjoy our time. After all, our driver took us back to Marrakech and left us safe at the Riad.
Amazing trip! The pick-up was communicated a day before and the guys picking us up were punctual. Also, the car was really comfortable and modern. Even had good wifi. We had little over 4 hours to spend in Essaouira, we made some stops on the road (as stated in the description: argan goat tree, argan cooperative, Essaouira panoramic view and a stop for coffee at the beginning) and the drivers (Redouane and Mohamed) were really nice, funny, communicative and took really good care of us! Would recommend this trip!
