After a hotel pickup, leave Antigua to the base of the Pacaya volcano. Sit back and relax on a bus for the 1-hour trip. Upon arrival, begin the climb with a local guide, walking through a large forested area. Travel along paths of the volcanic area, appreciating views of the other volcanoes in addition to the regional vegetation along the way. When you reach the plateau, see the main crater of the volcano from a distance. Observe the lava depending on the activity of the volcano and some steam baths created by the heat of the Pacaya Volcano. After soaking in spectacular views of the Agua, Fuego, and Acatenango volcanoes at the summit of Pacaya, start the descent to the base, before taking the bus back to Antigua.

Walk for 2 hours to the summit of Pacaya Volcano and enjoy stunning views. Leave from Antigua for a 1-hour bus journey to the volcano's base before immediately starting your 2-hour trek with your local guide. Hike through wonderful pine forests up to the trickier volcanic ash section and finally to the sulfur smoking cone. On occasion, you can even see small eruptions and lava flowing, depending on the activity of the volcano. From the summit, you can enjoy great views of the nearby volcanoes, Agua, Fuego, and Acatenango, the pacific lowlands, and all the way to El Salvador. To ensure your safety you won’t be able to visit the crater, but you will get an amazing view of red-hot lava flowing and steam baths created by the heat of Pacaya. Take a break and relax here as you take in more scenic views before hiking back to the base of the volcano, from where you will transfer back to your accommodation.

This day you will visit the Pacaya National Park. Visit to the most active volcano in Guatemala, its 2500 m. above the sea; the environment is formed by humid forest and rocks. Transfer to the foot of the volcano Pacaya and from there,we start hiking from the San Vicente de Pacaya village and begin ascent route is estimate at 60 minutes of walking up to a distance of approximately 50m from the craterat the top you can see down into the crater to the lava as well as experience the energy of an active volcano. Pacaya Volcano remains one of the active volcanoes of Guatemala. After the visit and explored of the Pacaya Volcano we continue to Kawilal Hot Springs to have time to take lunch   ( Included ). Here we visit a few look outs located above the village where we are able to enjoy great views of San Pedro and San Juan La Laguna, the lake, and the Indian Nose aka “Rostro Maya or Nariz del Indio”. After the look outs of San Pedro we have our longest drive of the tour going all the way to San Marcos la Laguna passing the town of San Juan and San Pablo La Laguna. In San Marcos we visit the Natural Reserve of “Cerro Tzankujil”, where we can take a swim on the lake or enjoy the views from the rock / mountain formations. After enjoying some time at the natural reserve we will hop back on our ATVs and head back to San Juan La Laguna, where we visit the famous lookout named “Kaqasiiwaan” viewpoint. To get to the actual lookout we have to hike about 15 minutes up the steps which takes us there. Once we reach the top, we are able to enjoy the views of the lake and villages and able to take some pictures around the lookout. Onces finished at this lookout we head back to our office in San Juan La Laguna

Next, you will learn to make tortillas and empanadas from scratch, guided by the family's expert hands. This hands-on experience will immerse you in the authentic cooking techniques passed down through generations. Finally, once the dishes are prepared, you will sit down together to enjoy the delicious meal you’ve created. This shared meal is a perfect opportunity to connect with your hosts and savor the flavors of Guatemalan cuisine.
