This two-day, private exploration tour to Sossusvlei departs from the quaint coastal village of Swakopmund on a daily basis. Get picked up from your hotel and head into the world-famous Namib Desert. Begin with a visit to the lagoon and salt pan in Walvisbay; this shallow and sheltered 45,000-hectare lagoon attracts a range of coastal water birds and enormous flocks of lesser and greater flamingos. These gigantic star-shaped mountains of sand are a sought-after subject for photographers because of their warm tints, ranging from pale apricot to brick orange and deep red, contrasted with the large white pans at their bases. The Guide was fantastic, he knows a lot of natural and cultur informations und told us. His english is good, also for people who are not nativspeakers. The tour through the dunes was in parts like a roller coaster - small and very high dunes. It was a lot of fun and we felt safe all the time. We were able to see animals like springbok, Tok tok Bugs, seals and jackals :) The lunch was homemaded and tasted very good.
A well-organized tour with punctual pick-up from the cruise terminal and timely return to the ship, so that you don't have to worry about missing the ship. The day before you will also be contacted again by e-mail and the pick-up will be confirmed. It is particularly gratifying that the tours are carried out at a much lower price than the boat excursions.
We did the tour in April 2019 and enjoyed it so much. We are still talking about this amazing day! Highly recommended! Jacques and JP were always ready to answer any questions, take pictures of us and made us feel very comfortable and safe. Not to forget: Food was amazing! Such a lovely preparation and more than enough of everything.
Thanks to the good tour of Teyeni & Vairo, we were able to get an insight into the real life of the people in Swakopmund and understand the cooperation in the Township Mondesa well. We liked the country and the people before the tour, but we were even more excited about the experience.
We had a great tour with our very nice and competent guide JP.
