Visit the ruins of Herculaneum! The Roman city of Herculaneum, destroyed and buried by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 A.D., was brought back to the chronicles of history in the 18th century thanks to Bourbon explorations. Over time, the memory of the location of the ancient Roman city was lost, and it was not until 1710 that a farmer, Ambrogio Nucerino, digging a well to irrigate his vegetable garden, recovered many valuable marble fragments, which only later were understood to belong to the theater of the ancient city. A day before the tour our team will contact you via whatsapp or via email: we will send you the tickets and all the informations you need. Be sure to download on your smartphone all the contents before the visit. The ruins and museums don't have free Wi-Fi and mobile network coverage is not always good. What people are saying about Ercolano

We had a fantastic guided tour around Herculaneum led by Dr. Luciano Leone of Askos Tours and arranged through Get Your Guide. We were in a group of 6 people in total and the entire tour was conducted in English with many individual snippets of information and knowledge imparted by Dr. Leone. Owing to a slight delay on the train we were running about 5 minutes behind the allocated start time but were phoned by Askos Tours to check on our progress and Dr. Leone waitied for us to arrive. All in all a superbly informative tour which we would thoroughly recommend.

Luciano is possibly one of the most passionate and animated tour guides we’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. You can clearly tell he is very enthusiastic about his subject and it’s contagious. We learnt so much from him about both Herculaneum and Pompei.

While the time is enough for Vesuvius and Erkalona excursions, time is limited for Pompeii. It is upsetting to have to return to Pompeii before the track is completed or even halfway through. The time here should be kept a little longer.

Alessandro was excellent. a real archaeologist who obviously loves the ruins and this is translated into a wonderful tour guide

We had a wonderful day. Highly recommend this day trip.
