Full description

From Kalymnios beach and at a depth of less than three meters can be found the ancient ruins, mosaic floors, and intact debris wall. which kayakers can enjoy just with a sea mask and snorkel. Specifically, it is a Roman villa from the 2nd century AD, which was located very close to the Agora, opposite the ancient port and below the Acropolis of ancient Epidaurus. The whole area was a place where pilgrims and travelers would go to in ancient Greek times to seek health, both spiritual and physical. Besides the beauty of nature in this area, you will be able to experience this positive vibe until today.

We had a great time on our adventure with Nomads Path! Michalis picked us up at our hotel in Athens and drove us to the beach. He answered questions about the language, culture and the scenery we passed on the drive. At the beach Yanos gave a tutorial and off we went. We crossed the bay and after a little swim we took a short walk to the ancient small theater. Then another dip before paddling out to a small cave and then to the sunken city. The whole way they pointed out things of interest. Then to shore where we were given snorkel masks and lead to a sea urchin free path to snorkel around the sunken Villa. Very cool to look at the ruins underwater and the different fish. Then we had a nice lunch of made by Georgios’ mom before a last paddle back to the beach we started at. We relaxed there for a while, met Georgios and his dog Lucy, and enjoyed a drink, ice cream and a shower. We made a quick stop Corinth canal on the way back. Overall it was a wonderful day! Highly recommended!
