The tour guide was sweet and very nice. Just know that if you book the basic tour, no outings to the mountain or anything else, you will only be provided transportation to and from Lucerne. Taking the subway is WAY cheaper then paying for what is not even a tour. Also, there is a subway that runs straight from Zurich to Lucerne. Lucerne is a small enough town to discover yourself in 3-4 hours at a leisurely pace. So if you do not book any extra things, which all the tours seem to be this way where you need MORE money to do the “fun”s stuff, save the money and take the subway.

Full description

Visit the charming old town of Lucerne on this day-long excursion. Enjoy a scenic drive along the picturesque shores of Lake Lucerne, also known as the Lake of the Four Cantons, as you make your way to this historic and charming destination. During a short orientation drive, your guide will take you past the main attractions, including the Chapel Bridge, the Town Hall, the Jesuit Church, and the Cultural and Convention Center.

After this, you will have 6 hours to yourself, in order to explore this town, its culture, and traditions, on your own. Visit the Verkehrshaus, the museum of transport and communication, or the Rosengart Museum, housing works by Picasso and Paul Klee or download the "Best of Lucerne" audioguide on your device to discover the city’s main attractions and rich history.

Take a boat trip on beautiful Lake Lucerne, or ride on the City-Train, a road train taking you around the city in 40 minutes (April to October). The picturesque back-streets and alleyways of the old town would entice anyone into strolling down them, to explore their hidden charms. Do a bit of shopping in unique surroundings.

Your tour departs from Zurich Sihlquai Bus Station near Zurich HB (main train station). Follow track 18 (last track on street level) until the road turns right. Follow the road for 50 meters and find the Zurich Sihlquai Bus Station across from Starbucks. By public transport take tram 4, 6, or 13 to the stop Sihlquai/HB. Please arrive 15 minutes before departure to check in at the counter of “Best of Switzerland Tours.” Please ensure you bring a valid ID and have the QR code on your printed or digital voucher ready for scanning.
