Full description

Day 1:
The journey starts with a scenic drive through the beautiful countryside and along the Lake of the Four Cantons to Weggis. Here you will board the aerial cable car to Rigi Kaltbad where you will board Europe‘s first ever mountain railway up to Rigi-Kulm (6000ft / 1800m). Enjoy the panoramic views over the Swiss-Midland, the Alps and the 13 lakes around you. Hike one of the well prepared trails and enjoy the beauty of this unique scenery.

In the afternoon check in at Rigi Kaltbad. Spoil yourself in the new mineral bath and spa designed by famous Swiss architect Mario Botta. Dive into the revitalizing, mineral-rich waters (35°C) of the indoor and outdoor pools and enjoy the unforgettable, breathtaking mountain panorama. Further offers include a whirlpool, herbal sauna, steam bath and a spectacular crystal spa bath (admittance for adults only). In the evening culinary delights await you in the restaurant SunSet where a 4-course selection dinner is included.

Day 2:
The mineral bath opens exclusively for hotel guests at 9:00 AM. Around mid-day, you take the cog-wheel train down to Vitznau where you board the boat for a lovely one-hour cruise to Lucerne. Discover the charming old town and see the famous Chapel Bridge, the Jesuit Church, the town hall and the modern Culture and Convention Center. 

The tour is accompanied by a professional, multi-lingual guide from Zürich to Weggis and from Lucerne to Zürich. The way up and down Mount Rigi including the overnight stay and the boat ride to Lucerne are unguided. For this part, you will receive detailed written information.

Meeting point

Your tour departs from Zurich Sihlquai Bus Station near Zurich HB (main train station). Follow track 18 (last track on street level) until the road turns right. Follow the road for 50 meters and find the Zurich Sihlquai Bus Station across from Starbucks. By public transport take tram 4, 6, or 13 to the stop Sihlquai/HB. Please arrive 15 minutes before departure to check in at the counter of “Best of Switzerland Tours.” Please ensure you bring a valid ID and have the QR code on your printed or digital voucher ready for scanning.

I don't think this activity is worth the money at all. The spa activities are just 3 pools and a sauna. For the sauna you have to walk in naked and sit on a towel, so if you're not up for that then you just have the pools. You can get massages but they're paid separately. There's not much more to do on Rigi other than a small hike. The dinner was alright (drinks are not included - I paid $20 for water). Breakfast was the best part. It truly is a rich breakfast buffet. The room was alright. The guide who got us there was awful. She was so rushed and it felt like we were a nuisance to her because she had to drop us off and get us the tickets. The issue is that they grouped this excursion with two others, so I understand why she was short on time. But that's not our fault. She legit told us "just go up with the cable car and when you get there it's self explanatory" ... it was not self explanatory lol. But thankfully lots of people speak English and helped.
