Prague TV Observatory Tower Audio Guide with Online Ticket

Prague TV Observatory Tower Audio Guide with Online Ticket

The Žižkov television tower is one of the dominants of Prague, which is difficult to overlook. The whole tower reaches a height of 216 meters. The observatory is located 93 meters above the ground, you can reach the top with the lift. It is possible to see up to 100km in good visibility! You can enjoy the view from three thematically different 'capsules.' Each of the capsules carries a different topic. The first one will introduce you to the World Federation of Great Towers. In the next cabin are the famous bubble chairs, from which you can enjoy the beautiful Prague and rest for a while. The last cabin serves as an exhibition and always represents the art of Czech artists (paintings, photographs, collages, etc.).In addition to the viewing platform, there is also a bistro on the tower, which is a great place for a romantic dinner with a view of Prague. The Žižkov Television Tower was founded in the years 1985 - 1992 according to project engineer architect Václav Aulický and Jiří Kozák. It is still a highly controversial building due to the contrast between the historical surroundings and high-tech architecture. According to a poll conducted by the Australian server VirtualTourist.com, the tower was voted the second-ugliest building in the world. It is also impossible to miss the climbing giant babies, the laminate sculptures, which are the work of the internationally acclaimed artist David Černý. It wasn’t too busy when we arrived on a Saturday mid morning but it was very cold. There was a queue to pay and one lady serving. We used the barcode on GYG to attempt to go through the gate for 6 people but it only took the one and the others had to walk round reception to get in. One lift to the top and another to the restaurant. Again a small queue. Once at the top there was plenty of info, 4 viewing areas and fantastic views. Worth the trip 👍

This pass is more worthwhile than individual tickets, which are quite expensive. If you plan your day well, you can see 6-8 places, which is very, very cost-effective. We didn't take the bus because it wasn't clear where it stopped.
