Full description

During this unique experience, you'll discover the cozy atmosphere of the Zermatt forests under a clear starry sky. In the heart of the woods, a bubbling fondue awaits you over a crackling fire, which you can enjoy with a suitable drink in the company of other participants. You will take the Zermatt-Furi gondola to the Furi mountain station. From there, you’ll walk approximately 10 minutes on your own to the firepit, where your guide will be waiting for you. Out in the fresh air, you'll savor a typical Swiss fondue by the crackling fire. After the fondue, you'll return to the starting point in Zermatt.

  • Duration: approximately 2 hours (including about 10 minutes by gondola, or alternatively 1 hour hiking, 10 minutes from the Furi station to the firepit, and 50 minutes back to the village).

It was a great experience in a beautiful setting. The food and guide/host were great! The return walk in the snow with torches might be better termed an adventure rather than experience, but it memorable! Make sure you have your hiking shoes, but you will have a great time!

It was a unique experience to have fondue in the middle of the forest in the snow. Chris the guide was a very good host. The information about the event: the different timings each day and starting point of the event could have been made clearer. Also it would be most helpful if someone could meet the group at Furi station. We walked in the dark in the snow alone, not sure if we would get to the actual meeting point, as the GPS is not always accurate. Overall, it turned out to be a great adventure for the fit and brave.
