Excellent tour lead by Peter Fox. An easy way to see lots of different beauty spots in the lakes. Peter taught us a lot about the area and gave lots of great recommendations for places to go.
Tony was an amazing guide! He was friendly, knowledgeable and a fantastic driver. He was overall very helpful and made it a lovely experience. This tour is SO worth it if you want to see the Lake District in a short amount of time. And we got to stop at a lot of breathtaking vistas/ get out and explore Grasmere for a whole hour! 10/10 would recommend.

Full description
You’ll have the chance to stretch your legs at Castlerigg Stone Circle, taking in the panoramic views of the fells. The tour returns travelling south along the vast Thirlmere whilst learning all about its interesting story.
There is then time to wander around the historic village of Grasmere before travelling back to Windermere. This half-day tour is perfect for those who are short on time but want to see as much of this beautiful area as possible.

Know before you go
- Westmorland and Furness Council are working towards upgrading and improving the safety of the A592 (Kirkstone Pass) which connects Windermere to Brotherswater and Ullswater. Unfortunately this does mean the road is closed for specific periods throughout the year, including 5th June 2023 – 3rd July 2023, 2nd October – 16th October and 1st March 2024 – 22nd March 2024. We are sorry for the inconvenience, please note our tours will still be running as usual but with a temporarily diverted route during this period.
