We are a team of 4 local guides; ERICK, SAMUEL, BENTA and JACK. We were all born, raised and still live here in Kibera Community. We have first-hand insights into the authentic daily life in the Kibera neighborhood. This tour enables our guests to learn more about the local community's way of life and the history of Kibera slum. The income generated from the booking fees, helps us in paying school fees for orphans and vulnerable kids and funding many other social projects here in Kibera slum. We run a social impact tour business called OAC Kenya Tours (www.oackenya.weebly.com). It is a vehicle for positive change. Get picked up from your desired pick-up location along the Mombasa coast. Drive North towards Watamu and arrive at the Marine Park. Board a double decker boat and begin an incredible tour over the coral reefs with the opportunity to see incredible marine life. Relax in the sun on the top deck and try to spot dolphins, within the seasons between May and October. Climb back onto the boat, and continue towards the Marine Park. Only the Great Barrier Reef itself has a bigger range of species list and the marine protected area in Watamu is also recognized internationally as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Stop to snorkel and shallow dive here, where it is virtually impossible to not see a few dozen species of fish inside the main reef. On the fringe, you'll have an excellent chance of viewing the magnificent whale shark or manta rays that are seasonal visitors. The park is also home to 3 species of sea turtles that nest on the beaches. After snorkeling, head over to the white sandy beaches where you will be allowed to step off the boat for a swim in the crystal clear blue waters for a while. A t around 1 PM arrive on the island where you'll receive a warm welcome and little entertainment. Enjoy a seafood lunch then take a guided canoe ride into the mangrove forest. You visit different sections of the park especially the loop side of the park which is swampy as most animals are found there. Visit the pipeline area where most of Elephants concentrate since there are lots of water holes to do mud bathing. Here you get a chance to see different wild animals especially Giraffes, Zebras, Buffaloes, lots of Elephants and if your Lucky see the Big CATS either hunting or hunted and feasting on a kill especially lions.
