Volastra: BarCa Wine Tasting in Cinque Terre and Pesto Class

We absolutely loved the Wine Tasting and Pesto Class in Volastra! Andrea and his team were very nice and helpful to us and the view was absolutely stunning! It was also such a charming village on the mountain top. This may be our favorite activity while in Italy.

Starting in one of the Cinque Terre villages, we took a charming little bus up into the mountains, winding through breathtaking landscapes. As we climbed higher, the views opened up to reveal the sparkling Mediterranean in all its glory—a truly awe-inspiring sight. The beauty continued as we walked along the trail, surrounded by nature, peace, and endless views. And then, just when you think it can’t get better, you arrive at a table perched above it all—overlooking a view so majestic, it feels like a glimpse of heaven. Sitting there, tasting wines lovingly crafted for generations by Andrea’s family, you can feel the passion and pride in every sip. We also learned how to do Pesto sauce which we eat it with some cicada bread. The land, the sea, the tradition—it all comes together in the most magical way. An experience that touches your soul.
