Things to do in Vitznau

A winter day trip in February, overcast day arriving at Weggis but then spectacular cable car through the cloud cover to bright sunshine above. The whole car gasped and then just stared in silence, it was THAT good. Amazing views from Mount Rigi, simply breathtaking in the snow. Decided upon some sledding which we paid for at the summit (not included in the trip as only applicable in winter), brilliant fun and well worth it just to laugh and enjoy the scenery whist sliding down the mountainside. Did a bit of hiking on snow covered paths as well, all kept really neat and accessible. Definitely worth spending longer on the mountain in winter if you get the choice. Lucerne boat ride was nice, great boat but in winter and in overcast conditions, it was never going to be the highlight of the day. Lucerne itself nice for a quick look but for us, in winter, it’s all about Mount Rigi - truly the Queen of the Mountains
