Day 1: Arrival
Start your adventure by collecting your rental car at the airport and traversing the Reykjanes Peninsula's volcanic lava fields. Spend your first night in Reykjavík, the vibrant capital.

Day 2: Golden Circle and South Shore
Begin with the Golden Circle, visiting Þingvellir National Park, the Geysir geothermal area, and the powerful Gullfoss waterfall. Continue south to Seljalandsfoss, where you can walk behind the waterfall, and Skógafoss, known for its sheer drop and rainbows. Head to Vík í Mýrdal to explore its black sand beaches and basalt columns. End the day in Kirkjubæjarklaustur, a gateway to natural attractions like Fjaðrárgljúfur canyon and Systrafoss waterfall.

Day 3: Vatnajökull National Park & Eastfjords
Explore Skaftafell in Vatnajökull National Park, hiking to Svartifoss waterfall framed by basalt columns. Visit Jökulsárlón, a glacier lagoon with floating icebergs, and nearby Diamond Beach. Continue through the Eastern Fjords, marked by picturesque fishing villages and stunning coastal views, ending the day in Egilsstaðir.

Day 4: Lake Mývatn
Drive through northeast Iceland to Dettifoss, Europe’s most powerful waterfall. Explore the volcanic wonders of Lake Mývatn, including the Námaskarð geothermal area, Hverfjall crater, and Dimmuborgir lava formations. Possibly relax at Mývatn Nature Baths and visit Goðafoss waterfall before reaching Akureyri, northern Iceland's largest town.

Day 5: West Iceland
From Akureyri, drive to Skagafjörður, known for its history and horse breeding. Continue to Borgarfjörður, visiting Deildartunguhver hot spring, Reykholt, and the Hraunfossar and Barnafoss waterfalls. Return to Reykjavík to explore the city’s nightlife, culinary scene, and cultural attractions like Harpa Concert Hall and the National Museum of Iceland.

Day 6: Departure
Depart from Reykjavík and return your rental car at Keflavík International Airport, completing your Icelandic adventure.

Meeting point

Once you clear customs and enter the arrivals hall, the car rental shuttle parking space is right outside – next to “Flybus Parking”. This shuttle will take you to the Rental Car Area where Blue Car Rental will be your second stop on its route. Quite convenient and easy to find. The shuttle runs from 06:00 – 18:00 every day with approximately 15 minutes intervals. If you are picking up after 18:00 we ask you to walk over to our delivery office. Simply exit the airport on the departure side and there you can see our delivery office across the parking lot. Our delivery office at the Keflavik International Airport is located within 4 minutes walking distance from the airport at Blikavellir 3. Renters are also more than welcome to take the walk over to us during the day.
