Victoria: Chinatown and Old Town Food Tour with Tastings

Victoria: Chinatown and Old Town Food Tour with Tastings

Get ready to embark on a mouthwatering journey through Victoria’s most vibrant neighborhoods, discovering hidden foodie gems along the way! We kick things off with a bang at Maiiz Nixtamal, an award-winning Mexican hotspot where Michelin-starred Chef Israel Molina crafts next-level tacos with his signature house-made tortillas. This isn’t just a taco—it’s a revelation. From there, we dive into the heart of Chinatown, weaving through tucked-away culinary treasures like Pinhalla, Cafe Malabar, and the cozy, can’t-miss Friends & Family Bakery. As we wander through the legendary Fan Tan Alley—Canada’s narrowest street—you’ll feel the energy of history and culture all around you. Next, it’s time to crunch into perfectly crispy, Thai-style dumplings from the beloved Dumpling Drop before we venture into Old Town, where cobblestone streets and stunning brick buildings whisper tales of the past. Here, we stop at the legendary Green Cuisine, where their homemade tempeh has been a Victoria favorite since the ‘90s! Finally, we wrap up our adventure with a well-earned drink at Whistle Buoy Brewing, one of the city’s best craft breweries. Sip on a locally brewed beer or enjoy a refreshing artisanal soda as we toast to an unforgettable day of hidden gems, bold flavors, and foodie fun!

Outstanding. Brenda was a fabulously informative and funny guide who shared a lot of stories about the people behind the scenes that we may not have otherwise been privy to. A true gem. Besides that - the food stops were delish and gave a true taste of many different cuisines and specialty items in Victoria’s Old Town and Chinatown!

Our tour was so much fun, super tasty, plus so informative. Since we were new to Victoria, we loved hearing the history of Chinatown and Victoria. Andi was full of good tidbits and knowledge of a town he obviously loves. The food was great and the shop owners were wonderful! Highly recommend!

Brenda made it a lot of fun! Would have likes to sample a little more Chinese food since most of the tour was in Chinatown. And maybe an interesting dessert instead of a small piece of chocolate. Otherwise, really enjoyed it!
