We reached the glass-making island Murano after about a 30-minute boat ride, where we watched the production live and took a short tour. Afterwards, we headed to another island, Burano which was full of colorful houses—an ideal place to enjoy your time and take beautiful photos. I believe our guides kindly offered to take those who were interested to a third island (Toricelli?) as well, but I chose to skip it, thinking Murano and Burano would be enough for the day. The guides—two ladies and two gentlemen—were very kind, cheerful, and informative. The only downsides were waiting in the sun for a while at the meeting point and, due to my own lack of attention, getting a nice sunburn from sitting on the upper deck of the boat. But even that became a sweet memory of a lovely day:)
This was a great day out. Camilla was a very informative and easy to listen to guide. It was clearly marked where to meet up and audio earpieces given out to hear the guides descriptions along the way. The boat was very big, comfortably fit everyone (approx 40-50 people on the tour). The first stop Murano was good with great demonstration and opportunity to purchase in the shop after and have a look around the island (though we got caught up looking at the glass displays). A tasty snack which was a surprise was also given on the bit between stops - two large Meatballs on a skewer pp and a glass of organic local made wine (there was enough for seconds if you wanted aswell). We dropped some people off at Torcella on the way to Burano. Burano was wonderful and plenty of time to explore the island with many opportunities to purchase souvenirs as well as have eats/drinks.
