Pucon: Horseback Riding Tour with Waterfall Stop

Pucon: Horseback Riding Tour with Waterfall Stop

Soak up the views and atmosphere of Chile's Araucania region on this horseback trail riding tour. In a small group of no more than eight people, ride along trails that lead you through lush forest and open pastures; along the Llucura river; and into the forest of the Carhuello mountain range. Along the way you'll enjoy views of Villarrica, Quetrupillan, and Lanin volcanoes and stop at a waterfall. On the half-day trek, starting on the ranch, ride on single trails in pastures, along the Liucura river, and into the forest of the Carhuello mountain range. On this ride, combine narrow trails in lush forest with riding on open meadows and along a wild river. In many parts, enjoy great views over three volcanoes: Villarrica, Quetrupillan, and Lanin. On the way, stop at a small but stunningly beautiful waterfall. On this ride, usually go walking, trotting, cantering, and galloping, but start quite slow so everyone gets used to their horse and the other way round: horses get used to you. Enjoy a juice and sandwich for the break on the 4-hour ride.

Ascent to Quetrupillán volcano 2370masl, from Pucón

Not as well known as its explosive sister volcano Villarrica, climbing Quetrupillán in winter is an incredible experience. A lush walk through the forest leads to panoramic views of the snow-capped volcano. Its flat summit allowes us to have an impressive 360° viewpoint with stunning postcard views of the smoking Villarrica and the gigant Lanín volcano. During summer, this ascent is a beautiful hike; when you arrive at its summit you will discover a huge glaciar inside its crater, and you can also see nice blue lagoons of melted ice. The Quetrupillan volcano stretches 2,370 meters above sea level. It's an activity of medium dificulty. 6:00am: We meet at our agency where we´ll give you all the mountain equipment you need for the activity. 6:30am: We leave Pucón and drive for 1h aprox., until the base of the volcano. 8am: Begining of the climb. 1pm/2pm: We should arrive to the summit at this time. It´s around 5h to 6h climbing, depending of the season. 2pm: We start to descent the volcano, in the winter we slide down with sledges, in the summer we walk down. 5pm: Back to the car, we´ll have a beer or juice before leaving ! (sometimes we´ll have it at the agency). 7pm: End of the activity. We recomand you to visit us the day before the hike, so you can try the shoes and equipment and we can answer any question.

Gorgeous views and a nice ride up and down the mountain with views of valley, mountains and snow-capped volcanoes plus a waterfall stop. Even got a bit of trotting in. Highly recommend— 4 hour for experienced rider and probably 2 for beginners as the trail can get steep and 4 hours is long for newbies but perfect for those who have ridden in the past. Lovely crew. I felt completely safe all the time.

My wife and I, who are beginners in horseback riding, were very considerate of him and he taught me how to handle horses in detail. The riding course that goes around the mountainside with a view of the Villarrica Volcano and the waterfall was also suitable for a beginner like me. Thank you for your consideration and help in making this a special experience.

It was a fantastic experience. We felt very safe with the guide and the horses. We were able to experience the ride at our own pace and spent a total of two hours on horseback.
