Hong Kong: Private Tour with a Local Guide

Hong Kong: Private Tour with a Local Guide

Your expert local guide will show you the city's best parts, including many hidden secrets. On this walking tour, you will be able to see a lot of sightseeing points within a short timeframe. Apart from explaining the sightseeing points, your guide can provide insight into the history and culture of the city and the country in general. The focus of this tour is to see the city like a local. However, this private tour can be customized to your needs. Sightseeing points to visit can be agreed upon in advance or discussed when meeting up. STANDARD sightseeing places we can easily visit during the tour are: • Central to Causeway Bay: The CBD of Hong Kong, a densely built-up area with many skyscrapers • Mong Kok: bustling downtown district with famous markets such as Ladies Market and Goldfish Market. • Kowloon-Canton Railway Clock Tower: Historic clock tower, built in 1915 and part of the sadly demolished Kowloon-Canton Railway terminus, is one of the most famous buildings. • Avenue of Stars: Avenue of Stars pays tribute Hong Kong's movie stars who have helped burnish Hong Kong’s cinematic legacy. • Kowloon Park: Slip away from Tsim Sha Tsui’s shopping mecca into the tranquil Kowloon Park. • Star Ferry: The Star Ferry is the swiftest and cheapest way to travel between Tsim Sha Tsui and Central or Wan Chai. You will get some truly spectacular views of Hong Kong’s skyline. • Victoria Peak: Fantastic views over the city and you can take the historic Peak Tram. • Lan Kwai Fong: The famous party district with a myriad of restaurants and bars. Some examples of HIDDEN SECRETS we can visit: • Shek O beach: one of the nicest beaches • Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens: An actual oasis within Hong Kong’s urban jungle. • Man Mo temple: Man Mo Temple is a mid-nineteenth-century historical building and a declared monument. • Nan Lian Garden: This public park is so leafy and peaceful it looks like an illustration from the Tang Dynasty. • Tai Kwun: Tai Kwun is a massive independent art space in the heart of Central and one of our city's biggest creative hubs. • PMQ: The transformation of the former Police Married Quarters into a centre for all things creative and design-based is one of the largest, most ambitious conservation projects in Hong Kong. An exciting mix of creative enterprises can be found at PMQ. • Hong Kong Wetland Park: This wetland reserve is home to a diverse range of wetland plants and animals, from mangroves to rare species of birds. • Kadoorie Farm and Botanical Garden: The farm was originally established to aid poor farmers in the New Territories but has since morphed into a nature conservation centre. Please note that it is not guaranteed to visit all the sightseeing places listed here. How many places you can visit depends on the length of the tour booked and how much time you spend at each place. After booking you can discuss the detailed itinerary with your guide.

I have to point out something VERY important, and that is that we booked the tour in Spanish and they sent us Echo, an English guide (very good and attentive, but in English), who only spoke English. The organizing company contacted us 24 hours before to tell us that they did NOT have a guide in Spanish, and the solution they gave us was to cancel so they would give us our money back. Imagine, thousands of kilometers to be told 24 hours before to cancel. I understand that Getaway should have or sell to more reliable suppliers, since the other excursion we had in Hong Kong was also cancelled. Honestly, we are NOT AT ALL happy with the Hong Kong suppliers. Bad experience.

Our tour with Agnes was excellent. I would highly recommend her as a tour guide. There is so much to see and do in Hong Kong letting Agnes or her team know in advance was a must for us and this helped us pack more in because she was able to plan an excellent route around the city before she met up with us.

Everything was great! Hans showed us a lot, explained things and explained them in a friendly manner

I really enjoyed the tour. It was fantastic. Thank you.
