Embark on an exciting journey departing from the city center of Tromsø by bus. After a 95-minute relaxing journey through Arctic mountains and fjords, you will enter the remote wilderness surrounding Tamokhuset. Upon arrival, you will be divided in two groups. In preparation for the dog sledding activity, the first group will be outfitted with the essential gear including thermal suits, boots, and gloves, ensuring comfort and warmth for the adventure ahead. After preparations and necessary instructions on how to steer the sled, they will set off on their dog sledding adventure. Meanwhile, the other group will go for a visit to the dog yard, enjoy a hot meal and drink while listening to some fascinating facts about our huskies. After some relaxing time at the camp, they will get outfitted with the essential gear and receive necessary instructions as well for their upcoming dog sledding adventure! When the first group has arrived back from their sled ride, both groups will switch places. Now it is time for the other group to set off on their adventure while the first group gets to relax at the camp with a warm meal and drinks, visit the dog yard and learn more about our huskies. When the second group has returned from their sledding adventure, it will be time to board again the bus for your return to Tromsø.

Discover the beautiful Arctic wilderness on a guided snowshoeing hike from Tromsø. Admire the beautiful views of mountains and fjords and enjoy a light lunch in a serene location. Depart from Tromsø and travel west of the city to the trailhead. After the drive, stretch your legs on a nice walk up a small mountain. During the walk you can view wildlife and when you reach the summit you will be provided with lunch. Embark on a guided snowshoeing excursion as you discover the wilderness with your guide. Admire the scenic mountain views and breathtaking nature as you hike. Keep an eye out for local wildlife like reindeer, eagles, ptarmigans, or hares. Take a break for a light lunch of a sandwich and hot drinks in the serene surroundings. Your guide will take photos on the tour and share them with you after the trip. After the conclusion of the hike, relax on the return journey to Tromsø.

Important update: Due to an unusually warm winter with high temperatures and extreme weather conditions, including storms and heavy rainfall, a significant part of the Snow Park is damaged and is currently closed. To compensate for this unfortunate occurrence and to enhance your experience, we have made some changes to the itinerary of this activity: Travel 1,5 hours by bus from Tromsø to the remote Tamok valley. Upon arrival at the camp, you can freshen up and get geared up in the warm winter clothes and boots we provide, ensuring you stay warm and comfortable throughout your stay at the camp. Our camp host will guide you through the day's program. Divided into smaller groups you will participate in a variety of engaging experiences, some accompanied by a guide, others to explore independently. Campfire Crafting Learn the essential survival skills from your knowledgeable guide as you partake in the art of crafting a campfire, essential for staying comfortable on a cold winter's day. Master the art of starting an outdoor fire yourself and gather around its warmth and light while you immerse yourself in captivating stories about the local lifestyle and the rich culture of the Arctic region. Grill your own sausage on the open fire while we will serve a warm soup and hot berry juice keeping you warm and cozy outdoors. Snow Adventures Get active and try navigating through snow-covered terrain on tandem skis. Race the other team for an extra dose of excitement! Learn about the history and evolution of skis; from a traditional form of transportation to its recreational & competitive forms today. Tromsø Ice Domes Explore our two domes together with your guide and learn about the construction process and the importance of snow and ice for those living in remote places such as Tamokdalen. Admire the sculptures created by our talented ice-artists and get a delicious non-alcoholic ice shot at our ice bar inside one of the domes, as well as a taste of local cheese with jam made from wild berries Encounters with Arctic Wildlife. Get close to the two most iconic animals of Northern Norway: cuddle and take photos with our huskies and go visit the reindeer herding near the Sculpture Park. After your visit, your day at Tromsø Ice Domes has come to an end and it is time to board the bus and return to Tromsø, taking with you great memories of this Arctic adventure and plenty of images of the magical snow art.

Upon arrival at Basecamp, enjoy a hot meal in a traditional North Norwegian setting. After dinner, suit up in warm winter gear and begin the adventure with a safety briefing and a practical demonstration. Then, follow a scenic snowmobile track into the snow-covered mountains. Make various stops throughout the trip to take breathtaking photos and play around in the snow. The duration of the snowmobile trip is between 1,5-2h depending on weather conditions. Drive in pairs with one driver and one passenger per snowmobile. Halfway you get the opportunity to switch drivers. After driving back down the trail and parking the snowmobiles, it is time to head back to Tromsø.

Together with an experienced guide, you will search for musk ox while hiking through the beatiful National Park of Dovrefjell. Along the way, you will learn about the musk ox's behaviour and history, other wildlife such as reindeer, as well as the importance of the national park to local culture. We meet at our office at Hjerkinnhusvegen 35 at 09:45, outside the entrance of Frich's Hjerkinn. The safari starts at 10:00, and then we drive 5-10 min to where we start the hike. If you don't have your own vehicle, please contact us beforehand and so we can arrange transport. (NOTE: During the summer season, there is a shuttle bus to Snøheim leaving from the same address at 09:45. Do NOT get on this bus, as it is not connected to our safari. We will not wait for you or refund your booking.) The musk ox are wild animals, and to ensure everyone's safety, we don't go closer than 200 m. The animals move freely in the national park, which means that they are in different places every day, and the hike can be anywhere between 6 and 15 km in total. The safari usually takes 5-6 hours, depending on group fitness. Dogs are allowed to join, but in some cases the owner and dog have to keep a longer distance to the animals. The weather in the Norwegian mountains can be unpredictable, so bring extra warm clothes. We recommend wearing waterproof hiking shoes. Bring a packed lunch and something to drink. If you have binoculars, you should bring those too! The safari ends at the same place as the starting point.
