What should I do on my first trip to Mount Titlis?

Mt Titlis is one of the most unique mountain peaks that you can visit in Switzerland. In addition to the sweeping panoramas, don't miss TITLIS Cliff Walk, Europe’s highest suspension bridge. Another highlight is Titlis Glacier Cave, an ice tunnel deep under the glacier.

What are some nice things to do nearby?

After you visit Mt Titlis, be sure to stop at Trübsee as well. Trübsee is one of the cable car stations that you'll pass on your way between Engelberg and Mt Titlis. In summer, here you'll find a picturesque mountain lake with rowing boats, kids' playgrounds, and fun outdoor activities. And in winter, you can go sledding and snowtubing here and it's included in your Mt Titlis ticket. Snowmobiling is usually available as well, but at extra cost.

How much time should I spend in Mount Titlis?

You can see the best that Mt Titlis had to offer in just an hour or two. However, take advantage of your day ticket and explore the Trübsee area as well. We recommend planning at least half a day for your visit, but you can easily spend the whole day here.

What are the best months to visit Mount Titlis?

Mt Titlis is a year round destination and at 3,239 meters above sea level, there is almost always snow at the top. The experience at Mt Titlis itself is quite similar in summer as in winter, but you'll find totally different things to do at the lower elevations depending on when you visit. Our personal favorite time to visit Titlis is on a cold sunny winter day.

What neighborhood should I stay in when I visit Mount Titlis?

Most people visit Mt Titlis as a day trip from Lucerne, so you don't absolutely have to stay in the area. However, if you have a bit more time, stay in Engelberg or at Trübsee, so that you can enjoy seasonal activities such as hiking or skiing.

What are the best areas for outdoor activities around Mount Titlis?

The area around Mt Titlis offers a big variety of outdoor activities, both in summer, as well as in winter. In winter, Titlis ski area is one of the best places for skiing in Engelberg, and you can also ski on the glacier at Mt Titlis itself. For other activities, the Trübsee area half-way between Engelberg and Titlis is the best place to be, with a big variety of fun things to do in all seasons.
