Titanic Experience Cobh

The tour begins at the Cobh Cruise Terminal at 8 AM or Ringaskiddy Cruise Terminal, from where you'll be picked up. First stop of the day is Blarney. Skip the line and visit the most famous castle in all of Ireland. Lie back and kiss the magical Blarney Stone and get the gift of the gab! You will also have time to visit the world-famous Blarney Woolen Mills, famed as the largest Irish Store in the world. Next take a panoramic drive through Cork, viewing the highlights of the city such as the River Lee, St Finbarre's Cathedral, Shandon Bells, English Market, and Grand Parade, before heading through the beautiful Cork countryside to the charming town of Kinsale. Enjoy typical views of the rolling fields of West Cork and also a stop overlooking picturesque Kinsale Harbor and its two forts. The historical town of Kinsale is today Ireland's gourmet capital with winding streets, great pubs, and fine restaurants.  Before boarding your ship, stop in Cobh, famed as the final departure point for the Titanic. Time permitting, we visit the St Coleman's Cathedral, one of the most magnificent cathedrals in the country, and the Titanic Experience, 100m from where the ships dock.

Day 1: Departing Dublin, you travel south towards Cork, through the lush farming counties of Kildare, Laois and Tipperary. Our first stop is the incredible Rock of Cashel, one of Ireland's most spectacular archaeological sites with over 1000 years of history. This is one iconic Irish structure you have to experience. It was the traditional seat of the Kings of Munster, and is said to be where St. Patrick himself baptised the King of Munster back in the 5th century. Explore this impressive site and to learn about an important part of Irish history. You continue onto Midleton Whiskey Distillery, also once known as Jameson. Here you have a chance to learn the history, find out how the drink is made, and taste a little yourself. Our final stop of the day is the town of Blarney, on the outskirts of Cork, where you have time to wander the castle grounds and go for a woodland stroll. You may even get a chance to kiss the famous Blarney Stone and receive the ‘gift of the gab’! In the afternoon, you glide along the beautiful coastline south of Cork before arriving in Kinsale. This charming little fishing village is your overnight stop, with all its local restaurants and lively pubs. Enjoy your free evening whilst exploring the narrow streets and brightly coloured houses. Day 2: Leaving Kinsale in the morning, you make your way to the historic port town of Cobh. This was the last port of call for the Titanic on its infamous maiden voyage. After exploring the stories of Ireland’s past, you head east along the Copper Coast, a UNESCO Geopark famed for its beauty and intricate histories. You continue until you reach Waterford, Ireland’s oldest city founded by Vikings in the 9th century. Survey the brilliant craftsmanship at the Waterford Crystal factory, explore the selection of superb museums or wander the Viking Triangle on foot. In the late afternoon, you travel north from Waterford to Kilkenny. This town is a vibrant place with a thriving pub and restaurant culture. After spending the evening here you’re certain to understand why people voted it Ireland’s friendliest city. Day 3: In the morning, you have free time to explore the attractions of Kilkenny. You then head north into the Wicklow Mountains, where you’ll be impressed by the National Park’s steep granite mountains. You follow the winding paths to Glendalough, site of an awe-inspiring 6th century monastery. This offers a perfect opportunity to capture a photograph of the verdant natural setting and the round tower of the monastery. After this, you head through the centre of the National Park to cross the famous Sally Gap, before descending the short distance back to Dublin. *Itinerary and distillery visits are subject to change.

Day 1: From Dublin, journey north to Belfast, known for its industrial history and tumultuous past. Explore the city's highlights on a short tour covering its triumphs, tragedies, and essence. Afterwards, enjoy lunch and discover the Titanic Quarter, where the famous ship was constructed in 1911. Explore the Titanic museum, board the HMS Caroline, or take a black cab tour. Leaving Belfast, marvel at the breathtaking scenery of the Antrim Coast and Glens, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Continue along winding roads to reach the awe-inspiring Giant's Causeway, where history and myth collide amidst stunning geological formations. Conclude the day in Portrush, a picturesque fishing village where you'll spend the night. Day 2: Go to the walled city of Derry, designated a UK City of Culture in 2013. Enjoy some free time to explore the old city center, and visit one of the many museums or galleries. Then cross the border to the Republic of Ireland, traveling into one of the most remote and unspoilt areas of the country. Explore County Donegal’s dramatic scenery and Gaelic culture. Pass through Glenveagh National Park and the Errigal Mountains, before following the coast through traditional fishing villages. Stop for nature walks along the way, and soak up the local culture before checking into your overnight accommodation in Donegal. Day 3: In the morning, head south along the coast near Donegal into County Sligo, known for its stunning views of the majestic Benbulben mountain. Just outside Sligo Town lies Carrowmore, home to the largest collection of megalithic tombs in Ireland, some dating back over 6000 years. Continuing westward into County Mayo, a region marked by the Great Potato Famine, you'll navigate winding roads through picturesque farmlands, bogs, and open moors, with glimpses of distant hills and the Atlantic coast. Stop at Achill Island to soak in its rugged sea views and tranquil beauty before a short drive to Westport, your base for the next two nights.. Day 4: Today’s itinerary is weather dependent, and your guide will advise the best things to see. Explore the beautiful house and grounds of Kylemore Abbey, or marvel at the wilderness of Connemara National Park. Go to Clifden to see where the first transatlantic flight landed. Other options include the scenic Sky Road and 12 Bens of Connemara. Return to Westport for an evening at leisure, and the chance to sample some local seafood in one of the many excellent restaurants. Day 5: Enjoy a leisurely start to the day, before leaving Westport and going inland through the heart of Connemara. Visit the village of Cong on the shore of Lough Corrib to see where the classic movie “The Quiet Man” was filmed. Explore Cong Abbey, or the Quiet Man Museum, before driving through the Maam Valley to Galway City. Enjoy free time sampling the town's seafood before heading to Kilbeggan Distillery, Ireland's oldest licensed distillery, for a tasting and museum visit. Return to Dublin.
