This full-day tour of the mighty Danube is ideal for people who want to combine history with nature and would like to enjoy some of the most beautiful countrysides in Hungary. You will see historic monuments and art memorials while your guide provides a lively narrative of Hungarian life. At Esztergom, the northern gate of Budapest, you will pause at the largest cathedral in the country and see the burial sites of famous cardinals as you gaze across the water towards Slovakia. Cross the river and border into Slovakia to see the stunning view from the opposite side.  You will visit the city Visegrád where you will learn about life in the Middle Ages while enjoying spectacular views of the Danube Valley. Additionally, this is the city where you will be provided with your lunch, a 3-course Hungarian meal. You will stop at the artists' village in Szentendre, a baroque city located where the Danube River meets the Pilis Mountains. Wander the narrow streets to soak up the magical atmosphere and catch panoramic vistas of the river. Browse the shops of the village before the return journey to Budapest. Travel from 21st May until 31st October will be on a relaxing boat cruise, a fitting way to arrive back in the city center. Between the 11st of September- 31st October, and in case of low/high water levels, the return to Budapest will be by bus.

On the way back, stop by the artist's village of Szentendre. It is a small baroque city at the gate of the Danube Bend, at the meeting place of the Danube River and the Pilis Mountains, situated in a beautiful natural environment. Walk around the baroque settlement, built on medieval ruins, and go up the narrow streets to a panorama point to look out over the Danube. Enjoy the special atmosphere of this village before the trip concludes.

Discover the artistic town of Szentendre (often referred to as the “Artists Village”) during a half-day tour along the Danube River. Travel back in time as you walk through the baroque town center. Pop into souvenir shops, discover restaurants, coffee shops and art galleries in the many listed buildings. Take a cozy walk on vintage streets beloved by artists since the 18th and 19th centuries. Afterwards, climb aboard the scheduled public boat (every Friday, Saturday and Sunday tour) and enjoy a scenic view as you cruise back to Budapest city center. On Tuesdays, you will come back to Budapest by bus. Please note that boat cruise is available every year from 21st May - 10th September!

Start off by seeing the city of Esztergom from another perspective during a photo stop in Slovakia. Then head out in the comfort of an air-conditioned bus and enjoy the remarkable city of Esztergom, home to the largest Catholic church in the country. In addition to experiencing a great view of river valley, you will also have time to enjoy a 3-course lunch in the city of Visegrád. Afterwards, you will continue to the magical artist’s village of Szentendre, where your guide will show you the downtown area with its cobblestone streets. At the end of the tour, return to Budapest either by boat on every Friday, Saturday and Sunday (from 15th May to 31st October) or by bus on every Wednesday (from 15th May to 31st October). In case of extremely low or high water level on the River Danube, the return to Budapest will be by bus as well.

Before the 21st of May and on Tuesdays between 21st May - 10th September the return trip from Szentendre to Budapest is by bus. In case of low water level in the Danube or during extremely bad weather, the return trip to Budapest will also take place by bus.

Római Part: This riverside area in the northern part of Budapest is popular for its casual atmosphere, food stalls, and riverside bars. It's a great spot for a break and a snack. Üröm Hill: If you’re up for a slight detour, Üröm Hill offers stunning panoramic views of Budapest and the surrounding areas. Dunakanyar (Danube Bend): As you approach Szentendre, you’ll get to enjoy the scenic beauty of the Danube Bend, a picturesque section of the river. Return Options 1. Bike: If you're up for it, you can bike back to Budapest the same way you came. The ride back is just as scenic. 2. Boat: Take a scenic boat ride back to Budapest. Check the schedules for the Mahart Passnave company, which operates regular services between Szentendre and Budapest. 3. Train: The HÉV suburban train runs regularly between Szentendre and Budapest’s Batthyány Square. It’s a quick and comfortable option if you’re tired from the ride.
