What a great day. We were picked up by our driver Thalles and were a small group of 7 in an air conditioned minibus. It was a long 2.5 hour drive into Hunter Valley to our first stop, Irongate Estate Winery where Geoff the head wine maker gave us a tour and explained how the wines were made. We then had a tasting of 7 different wines. Then onto Pokolbin estate where we tasted another 8 wines paired with chocolate. Our next stop was for lunch at 4 pines. Lunch was provided and was very good and included a beer, wine or soft drink. After lunch we went on to the wines tasting with cheese pairing. We tried around 11 wines. After that we left for the last stop of the day, Small Mouth Distillery where we tried around 8 different flavoured spirits before heading back to Sydney. From start to finish we enjoyed the tour and felt looked after. I would definitely do this tour again.

Enjoy a day out exploring the stunning Hunter Valley wine region, tasting some of Australia’s best wine, food, cheese, chocolate, beer, and distilled spirits. Great music, a relaxed style, and friendly guides make this experience feel like you have joined a tour with friends.

The tour includes three wine tastings of reds and whites at iconic wineries. You will also enjoy some free time over lunch with a glass of wine or beer. Learn about the process of winemaking and see it firsthand on an exclusive behind-the-scenes wine production tour.

Sample delicious cheeses and chocolate throughout the day and visit a distillery to try local spirits before your guide gets you safely back to Sydney in time for dinner!
