We had an amazing time seeing the beautiful Cheow Lan Lake! Our guide brought us through the cave and pointed out spots of interest. He even detoured to show us fruit bats later in the trip! He offered to take photos of us throughout as well. We had a fantastic time!

We had an amazing tour this morning on Cheow lan lake. We selected the 6 AM tour (meaning a pick up before 5 AM) Driver was on time and super nice (offered to stop us at 7/11 on the way) and the drive to the pier was smooth. We arrived a bit early, the boat captain arrived a little bit before 6:00 and we could leave. I have absolutely no regret on the choice of the time: we were completely alone on the lake and really enjoyed it. The long tail boat was nice and we were offered some water. We were also completely alone in the diamond cave. Some reviews say it is not worth it, I thought it was a very nice cave, and the scenery around is just magical. (We could see the jungle with the mist and hear the Gibbons calling, just wow) Next stop was the pier, since there was absolutely nobody there we could eat and have coffee, just enjoying the amazing, quiet scenery around before to return to the pier. Yes it’s on the expensive side, but totally worth it for me. Great service. Thank you!

Full description

Depending on the option you choose, either get picked up at your hotel in Khao Sok or meet your captain at the pier in the stunning Khao Sok National Park. After arriving in the park, board a traditional private longtail boat to begin your exploration of the oldest rainforest area in the world.

This tour is perfect for people who love a peaceful boat tour in a gorgeous scenery. Pick the early morning option at 6.00 AM to avoid the crowds and to witness a magical sunrise at the lake, while listening to Gibbons singing. Pick the afternoon option at 2.30 PM to avoid the crowds and see sunset on the way back to the pier.

Cruise around Cheow Lan Lake on the longtail boat, enjoying the peaceful surroundings and beautiful nature. Marvel at the famous "Three Brothers", a group of 3 almost identical limestone rock formations, and keep an eye out for wild monkeys swinging in the trees.

Next, we head to the Diamond Cave (Pra Kie Phet Cave). Spend about 30 minutes exploring this mystical cave filled with coral, stalagmite, and stalactite formations. As you walk through the cave, spot bats, spiders, and snakes.

Our last stop is at the raft house, where you can relax at this peaceful area for the rest of the time, and enjoy swimming at the gorgeous emerald water. If you feel hungry, there is delicous food that you can buy at the local restaurant if there is a table free.

Return to the pier and cruise back, taking in the breathtaking views of the gigantic limestone cliffs. Enjoy a comfortable ride back to your hotel in Khao Sok if you selected the option with hotel transfers.

  • Swimwear
  • Towel
  • Food

  • Sunscreen
  • Rain gear
  • Cash

Know before you go

  • Your local captain and driver speak very basic English. Please be patient
  • The restaurant at the floating pier is sometimes full, you can bring some snacks in case that happens.
  • In the Diamond Cave, there are bats, spiders, and sometimes snakes. If you prefer not to visit, please let us know latest the day before the tour
  • Tour schedule might differ due to weather and lake conditions
  • There’s an obvious reason Khao Sok’s nature is incredibly green year-round: it is one of the wettest regions of Thailand. Be prepared to get wet! Please bring waterproof bag and jacket in case it rains. The roof of the longtail boat is not not fully covering you for the rain, and in heavy winds the roof cannot be deployed.
  • Most rain falls between late April to December. The tour will continue in the rain if conditions are safe.
  • Spend 4 hours on the lake of Khao Sok: 1.5 hours on the private boat driving around, 30 minutes in the cave, and the rest of the time on a floating pier stop where you swim and relax.

Wow, what an amazing morning on Cheow Lan Lake! 🤩 We're absolutely thrilled that your early 6 AM start paid off, giving you the lake and Diamond Cave all to yourselves – sounds truly magical with the mist and gibbons! It's fantastic to hear your driver was super nice and punctual, and that the longtail boat and service were great. Thank you so much! 💙

Very well organized. We had a boat for ourselves as a family and we had great time. Our driver and the boots man were very friendly and accommodating people. Recommended!
