Enjoy a full-day excursion from Split to Dubrovnik, where you will tour inside the historic city walls and along the limestone streets of the Old Town.  First, enjoy a scenic ride along the Dalmatian Coast, stopping once or twice for panoramic views across the Adriatic Sea. This is the Mediterranean as it used to be, before the onslaught of mass tourism. Upon arrival at the pearl of the Isthmus of Dubrovnik, take an official guided tour of the city’s historic monuments.  Each corner of Dubrovnik is a unique experience, and the 90-minute tour is enough to visit attractions such as the monumental Pile Gate, located at the top of Stradun, Dubrovnik’s famous street of limestone, polished by years of footfall. Go to the Franciscan Monastery, where 30,000 volumes, 216 incunabula, and 1,500 valuable handwritten documents are stored in the library. The cloister is one of the most magnificent monuments in the city and houses the oldest pharmacy in Europe, dating back to 1317. A little further on, encounter the Renaissance splendor of Sponza Palace, notable for its portico and columns, and elaborate stone carvings. Today it is home to Croatia’s State Archives.  Your guided tour ends at St. Blaise Cathedral, dedicated to the city’s patron saint and protector.
