The trip was fantastic, the drive along the Amalfi coast was stunning in itself with the beautiful towns of Positano, Amalfi & Ravello a magnificent bonus. Positano, you’ll need a level of fitness or take your time on the steep streets but worth walking down & up. Amalfi was beautiful and less hilly than Positano. Look out for the freebies in the chocolate shop on the Main Street. They will let you taste everything and the girls are so welcoming you will and should buy. It’s located on the right past the church. Ravello set up in the mountains is just stunning. There is a cafe on the main square( top left with your back to the church) go in sit in the back with your tea/coffee and admire the view. I’ve no doubt all drivers and guides are great, we had Vincent who was fantastic and friendly.. He stopped above Positano to show me s the best spot to take photos of the town.
It was nice to see both archeological sights to compare them. Pompei is huge and only just scratched the surface on the tour. In Herculaneum we were able to see the entire sight. We had a nice lunch in between at a vineyard on Mt Vesuvius. The food and service were good. We had 3 wines made from the property vineyards. Definitely a farm to table experience.
