Day was well planned and the guide was excellent. Really enjoyed visiting the different areas of the city. The bus journey seemed a little erratic at times and I was nearly flung out of my seat at one point because the driver almost went into the back of another car. It would have been nice to explore the square area a bit more and grab a coffee, we stayed a little too long in both the market and the chocolate factory. overall a great and enjoyable trip would still would highly recommend.
We were picked up in the hotel lobby, about a 1-2 hour drive to Santo Domingo (with a stop halfway) where our Dominican tour guide joined us on the minibus and gave us a tour of the city, dropping us off at safe (police-patrolled) and iconic places such as the Parque de los Tres Ojos, Plaza Colón, the SD Love Statue, and then walking a little through the city to a market, a chocolate factory, and eating at a buffet restaurant serving Dominican food. Overall, a 10 out of 10.
An incredibly colorful and rewarding day trip! The absolute best I've done so far in all my travels. The guides were fantastic, knowledgeable, and down to earth. They invited us in and shared with us, and we gained so much insight into life here. They showed us the best and worst of the city, the huge differences and lifestyles, the cool history, and interesting places. Do this tour, it's worth every penny.
Definite highlight of our trip to the DR! Our tour guide was very attentive, accommodating, and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this tour company for anyone planning a trip to the DR.
