Things to do in Santa Rosa de Cabal

What can I say?! What a fun a fulfilling day trip this was. We were picked up from Armenia and we enjoyed the beautiful drive to Salento. The roads were full of cyclists and runners, which we enjoyed seeing as well as the picturesque landscape. The day started in the Cócora valley, a beautiful area to walk and appreciate the wax palm trees. Our guide, Sol, was engaging and provided us with interesting information about the area, trees, history etc. Next stop was to a coffee finca. This involved an exploration of the estate, along with getting hands on picking some coffee beans. At the end, we got to sample some of this local coffee. Very tasty. We then went in to the main town of Salento, had an enjoyable lunch, before our guide then took us on a tour based on what we were interested in. We ended up playing the traditional game Tejo, and visited an artisanal chocolate shop. Divine. Wonderful day, and special thanks to Sol for making it so enjoyable.
