Discover the old city of Salzburg by water and ride leisurely along the river. Admire the gorgeous façades of Salzburg in the direction to Hellbrunn with views of the mountain range and rural Salzburg. After half an hour, arrive at the Hellbrunn dock and board a London-style double-decker bus, which will bring you to the fairytale Hellbrunn Palace (Schloss Hellbrunn). Enjoy priority entry to the world-famous trick fountains in the palace's expansive gardens. Experience, what delighted the local archbishops 400 years ago: mysterious, mystic grottoes and trick fountains around every corner. Step back in time to the Middle Ages at Hohenwerfen Castle, a former fortification built in the 11th century and located on a steep peak high above the Salzach valley in the Pongau region of Salzburg. Choose between options that include a funicular ride up to and down from the castle, or make your own way up to the 155-meter (509-foot) peak with a 15-minute walk through light woodland.  Don’t forget to explore the arsenal, belfry, and royal apartment to see what life back then must have looked like. Besides discovering what the fortress has to offer, another highlight of your visit will definitely be a stunning flight demonstration by the historic State Falconry Center. Primarily, they show domestic birds of prey in free flight. You will also get access to the Austrian Falconry Museum, which is currently hosting the “Where Eagles Dare” exhibition in the Pump Vaults. Don't miss out on the interactive “The Legend Of Jack, Witches and Wizards in Salzburg” exhibition, nor the exhibition on the architectural history of the fortress. Join this rafting tour and head to the Salzach River. Provided the water level is high enough, you'll experience white water rafting of moderate difficulty. From the meeting point, you'll transfer to the start of the river. After you begin, there's a short section of the river that will give you time to familiarise yourself with the character of the river and the onboard commands. You'll soon be at the 'Labyrinth', a blocked rapids section that will demand focused attention. Make your way through the Railway rapids section, after which point the river continues through Lend. From the impressive waterfall of the Gasteiner Ache, things slow down a bit. Shortly before the finish, there are some splashy sections where staying dry will not be an option. After, you'll head back to the meeting point.
