Hotel pickup will be between 6:30 and 7:15 AM, and is available if you are staying in a centrally located accommodation up to 8 blocks from the 9th of July central square. Please bear in mind that in some cases, the bus might not be able to access your hotel and you will be contacted to arrange a different pickup spot. Guide Augustina a bit nervous with the english but willing to assist. smiling and kind. transportation was great. Bus was clean , driver was careful. They offered coca leaves and agua de flores for the altitude. Salinas Grandes is beautiful.

Nice day trip - got to see lots of the Salta and Jujuy provinces just from the bus window. Salinas Grandes is well worth visiting (didn't find much to do in Purmamarca). The bus was comfortable (had USB charging points) and the guide (Mauricia I think was the name) was great- gave lots of explanations, organized things well and took care of the group.

Full description

After departing from central Salta, drive through the picturesque towns of Yala, Volcán, and Tumbaya. On the way, stop at the Seven Colors Hill viewpoint to appreciate the wonderful views of the multi-hued mountain illuminated by the sun.

Arrive in the magical village of Purmamarca at the base of the Seven Colors Hill. Start by ascending the slopes of Cuesta del Lipán, Cuesta del Saladillo, and Abra de Potrerillos. Keep your eyes peeled for local wildlife including vicunas and llamas along the way. When you reach 4,150 m above sea level, be dazzled by the Salinas Grandes - a spectacular white salt plain which creates a striking contrast with the blue sky. Spend about 45 minutes at the salt plain taking in the breathtaking views. 

Follow the trail back to Purmamarca where you will have free time for lunch (not included in the tour price). Take the opportunity to stroll through the charming narrow streets, admire views of the mountain, and explore the craft market.

At the end of the tour, return to Salta on the bus where your tour will end.

I loved this trip: Salina grande was a must for me. Jasmin our tour guide was really good. She spoke in both Spanish and English which was great for me. I was on the trip solo but she was always looking out for me even taking my picture when I wanted. I would really recommend this trip. Seeing the salt flats were a hilight. They have people there that take your pic for you!
