One day trip along the emerald coast. Explore the tidal island of Mont Saint-Michel, walk through the medieval old town and admire the beautiful bay. The place was inscribed on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites in 1979 for its unique aesthetic and importance as a Catholic site. Visit the old abbey and its spectacular Norman architecture of 10th and 11th centuries. Enjoy the morning visit when there are fewer visitors ;) (very crowded on afternoon). After, let's take a look of the old fishing port of Cancale which very famous in France for seafood. It's considered as the "oyster capital" of Brittany. On afternoon, we'll explore the Corsair city of Saint-Malo and walk on the ramparts which completely surround the city. You can also enjoy the beach and the sea or board a Corsair ship! Departure from Rennes at 8:30 am, visit of the Mont Saint-Michel and Saint-Malo and return in Rennes around 6:30 pm. Air-conditioned minibus. Small group of 8 people maximum. Entrance ticket of the Mont Saint-Michel abbey and Corsair ship not included.

After the Mont St Michel, I'll drive you to Cancale, a lovely little village set in this bay, Cancale is the the best place in France and probably in Europe for oysters . (The famous "Belon of Cancale" ). Besides many tasting you will also see how oysters are raised. Then, if you still have time I will guide you in Saint Malo, where you will be back in the days of privateering and great discoverers. ---------------------------------- 9AM Saint Malo-Saint Michel Drive along the Emerald Coast Road - Time to learn about the history of the Mont St Michel. 10AM Stop at the Mont St Michel 11AM - 12AM Visit of the Abbey of the Mont St Michel Please note that there are about 625 steps up to get to the Abbey. No elevator. 12. 30AM 1. 30AM Lunch in the best restaurant facing the bay of the Mont St Michel - Local specialties : Mère Poulard Omelette and salted grass lamb. 3PM Stop at Cancale Oyster tastings and visit of the oyster farm at low tide. This stop can be replaced by the Pointe du Grouin, a lovely spot for bird watchers and landscape enthusiasts. Drive along the Emerald Coast Road 6 PM Return to Saint Malo-Saint Michel
