From Marrakech: Zagora 2-Day Desert Safari with Food & Camp

Excellent adventure into the desert that incorporated a bit of everything! Highlights were the stop at Ait Ben Haddou (our guide Said was welcoming and knowledgeable), camel ride into the desert (although 1 hour was definitely long enough!) and the hospitality of the Berber camp. We came back tired but super happy. A definite must do activity!

I truly loved this adventure. I am doing a long trip with multiple countries and this activity had been my favorite so far. Our driver Kamel was amazing and took the time to show us many places along the way. The drive didn’t feel long because of that. Once we got to the camp, Abraham was our camel and camp guide. He was wonderful and we loved getting to know him. We rode camels, had a fire, ate an incredible dinner & danced under the bright & beautiful stars. The camp was STUNNING & very comfortable. It was amazing. I wish we could have stayed.

We got picked up by Abdo (our lovely driver) at 7.30am near our riad, we had several stops on the way for those who needed toilet break, also we stopped in a lovely village with a local guide, we were there for 2 hours roughly and had lunch in a restaurant near the village. Afterwards, we travelled in the afternoon towards the desert- had a few stops for toilet breaks- met with the beduin and we did ride the camel (the ride was roughly 1 hr, so be prepared!)- also get some water on the way. We arrived at the camp around sunset- just in time for iftar (we were here during ramadan), had tea and biscuits with Yousef (our guide and beduin at the camp), dinner and then music around fire. The camp is comfortable, there are toilets and showers (no towel, bring your own). After dinner we went to see the stars, i’ve never seen something this beautiful. Then woke up at 5.30am, sunrise and breakfast and back to the mini bus by riding the camel (30min ride) and back to Marrakech. 100% worth it!!
