We would thoroughly recommend this trip - due to the weather (thunderstorm) in the morning we visited Pompeii first instead of going up Vesuvius . Although the rain was torrential and we were wet through we really enjoyed wandering the streets of Pompeii. By the time we climbed Vesuvius the weather was beautiful so we had amazing views from the top. We enjoyed a spritz and some Vesuvian wine on the way down. We were blown away by Herculaneum - so much of the site is in tact with amazing frescos and you got a real sense of how they lived during that time. It is a long day with lots of walking, but totally worth it.

We were really pleased with our experience. Transportation from Sorrento > Pompeii > Herculaneum> Sorrento was seamless and paying for the transfers were worth it in our opinion as it made quite a tiring day (it was boiling hot) easier! I think everyone felt indebted to Antonio and his air con! Paolo (the tour guide) was very knowledgeable, was able to manage some trying tourist well but was funny, polite and above all passionate about the history. would recommend to anyone staying in Sorrento!
