Learn how to craft a pomegranate using real clay during a pottery workshop in Rhodes Town. With an instructor, explore various ceramic techniques to create your own pomegranate, which symbolizes abundance, fertility, good fortune, and wealth in Greek and many other cultures.

While your own pomegranate undergoes painting and firing – a process that takes about two weeks – take home a beautifully crafted one made by a previous participant. Your hand-crafted pomegranate will then be passed on to the next visitor, creating a continuous cycle.

My daughter Niamh and I visited at the end of October… i think we were lucky to land one of the final slots this season. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience of making the pottery and found Theo the teacher to be a very charming man who is very knowledgeable of his craft. Brilliant value for money and we’d definately visit again next time we visit Rhodes. What happens is you make a pomegranate out of clay. That’s is then put to one side for drying. you then get one already dried from a previous student which you then proceed to paint with glaze. Theo then dips this ready for firing. Finally you get to pick a completed item again from a previous student. My daughter and I especially enjoyed this activity. Many thanks to Theo Nick and Niamh
