Although a challenging experience, I am glad we went. The guide (Veronica) was very accomodating with options and questions etc, and very easy to understand. When looking through the exhibition areas there wasn't sufficient time to read all the commentaries and his part felt a little rushed. There was so much good material to read and 'consume' which we had to rush through. This trip made us much more aware of the real situation at the camps and would thoroughly recommend it. There was no stop for a snack or a drink, so take something with you if needed.

This was such a different and interesting experience for myself and my husband. Tony was an amazing guide, giving us insight into what the poor people residing here during WWII had to go through, as well as past history about the site, comparing it as "paradise" against Auschwitz (which a lot of them were transported to after being here), despite there still being horrible conditions. I'd recommend this tour to anyone wanting to learn more about what happened at these sort of camps.

Full description

Be picked up at your hotel in Prague and travel to Terezín for a half-day trip of the town. Meet your guide in Terezín and visit some of the town’s historic locations.

The small fortess was built-in the 18th century by Emperor Joseph II. During WWII the fortress served as a Gestapo Police prison and Jewish ghetto and concentration camp. Visit the small fortress and the Ghetto Museum and learn more about the town’s history.

The Ghetto Museum opened in 1994 and is home to a permanent exhibition devoted to the history of the political prison and the persecution of the Czech nation under the Nazi regime.
