Fantastic way to get around the city and experience some historic transportation. The on board guides are superb. We didn’t find time to do the audio app, too busy looking at the sights to need to do that.

Travel back in time as you ride past Prague's most iconic sites aboard the historic 'Line 42' trams. The trams running on this route date back to the Austro-Hungarian Empire era and up to the 1970s.
See some of the city's most beautiful attractions, including the Vltava River, Prague Castle, Charles Bridge and Prague Towers along your route.

Tram stops and departures (subject to change):
Stop 1: Dlabačov (10 AM, then every 40 minutes until 5:20 PM)
Stop 2: Pohořelec (10:01 AM, then every 40 minutes until 5:21 PM)
Stop 3: Brusnice (10:02 AM, then every 40 minutes until 5:22 PM)
Stop 4: Pražský hrad (10:03 AM, then every 40 minutes until 5:23 PM)
Stop 5: Královský letohrádek (10:05 AM, then every 40 minutes until 5:25 PM)
Stop 6: Malostrasnká (10:08 AM, then every 40 minutes until 5:28 PM)
Stop 7: Právnická fakulta (10:12 AM, then every 40 minutes until 5:32 PM)

Meeting point

Board the tram number 42 at any of its stops. You will recognize the tram by its historical design and the number 42. There is no need to redeem/exchange your voucher, you can simply show the voucher to the staff on the tram. Tram is leaving from the meeting point (Právnická fakulta stop) at 12:51 AM and then every 40 minutes (12:51, 13:31, 14:11, 14:51, 15:31, 16:51 and 17:31 PM).

Know before you go

  • On Sunday, May 4, the Orlen Marathon Prague 2025 will take place in Prague, and therefore line 42 will not operating.
  • Operating hours are from 10 AM to 6 PM (the first stop is Dlabačov)
  • The trams depart every 40 minutes, after each circuit, there is a 30-minute break at Dlabačov stop
  • The last circuit starts at 5:20 PM from the Dlabačov stop
  • The route of the line may change due to exclusions
