Joe was phenomenal!! They have everything from extra jackets to water shoes and bags to hold your things without them getting wet - no extra cost!! My best friend and I did this together and had an awesome time. Got to see some amazing birds and the seals were too cute. Thank you to the crew both on land and the guides but especially Joe. Full description

The hour just before sunset is one of the best times to paddle Casco Bay; the sky tends to explode with color and the seas often become glassy and calm. On this trip you'll enjoy a leisurely paddle along the edge of Portland Harbor and the inner islands of Casco Bay. Along the way you'll enjoy views of local landmarks such as lighthouses and historic forts. And you'll spot wildlife such as seals, osprey, eider ducks and other maritime creatures. As you paddle back towards the East End Beach you'll take in a panoramic view of the sun setting over the city.

This two-hour tour is designed for paddlers of all experience levels — including first-time kayakers. You'll be given all the paddling gear you need, including a dry bag in case you want to bring along a phone or any other small belongings.

Includes

  • Double (two-person) sea kayaks that are stable, swift and perfect for beginners.
  • A brief lesson on the basics of sea kayaking taught by an expert kayak guide.
  • Licensed Maine Guide.

Meeting point

We are located at the very end of Cutter Street, where the road meets the ocean. Our office is seasonal and does not have a street number, but entering “1 Cutter Street” or “Portland Paddle” in most mapping programs will direct you to us. We’re a short walk or drive from downtown Portland, beside the East End Boat Launch.
