Meeting point

Meet at 5:00 PM at the northeast corner of Benito Juarez Avenue and 5ta Avenida in downtown Playa del Carmen (see attached picture for location). If you are coming by taxi tell the driver to drop you off at the downtown bus station (ADO station, meet outside on the corner) and you will be at the meeting point. Panda, your Food Hoppers guide will be waiting for you, wearing a red shirt with the Food Hoppers logo on it.

Do not eat lunch the day you take this tour! You'll want to be able to eat all the delicious food on the stops! Ivan was a great guide! Website should be updated...he wears a red shirt not a yellow one and the gourmet tour isn't offered anymore.

Food was good and some things were quite unique. Many of the places were on the same block, so it would have been nice to see more and space out the tastings. Information on the food was good but could have been more in depth. The guide was very nice. Overall, it was really good and we enjoyed, and recommend it, but did expect a bit more.

If you love authentic and genuinely local food, and want to get away from the tourist area, this is the tour of you! Ivan was a great guide! He shared all the best foods and drinks with us and filled us in on the history and culture of Playa del Carmen. Every stop had variety and all were delicious. The only thing I would have changed was to bring an extra stomach!
