“Ernie the Eagle” was a brilliant tour guide on this trip. He explained everything and all the timings, the pick ups and drop offs went like clock work. He had lots of extra facts about Slovenia for the journey (around 1hr from Portoroz). The mini bus was air conditioned and very comfy. We had plenty of time at both the castle and cave to get a really great experience!!!! There are lots of places to buy food and drinks at the caves so don’t worry too much about packing a huge amount. The castle was warm and very humid and the cave was cold (10 degrees) if you “feel the cold” then be sure to bring something warm like a sweatshirt or jacket.. especially for the short train ride down to the start of the cave tour, it’s very windy and cold!!! Once you are in the cave it’s. It so bad!
