At ancient Olympia you will visit the temple of Zeus, the temple of Hera, the altar of Hera where the lighting of the Olympic torch takes place and the stadium, among other sites. You will also see the shrine of Pelops, the Council house where the athletes took the Olympic oath, the Treasury houses, the Gymnasium, and the Palestrae where they used to exercise for a month prior to the Games. Finally, you will reach the stadium, where the marble starting blocks are still in position. Visit the Archeological Museum, only a short walk from the Olympia site itself. There you will find a collection of Greek sculpture, as well as treasures that have been unearthed over a century of excavations. Day 4: Zakynthos – Ferry to Kyllini – Patras – Preveza Take the ferry from Zakynthos to Kyllini. After reaching Kyllini port, drive towards the vibrant town of Patras. Your main destination for today will be Charilaos Trikoupis Rio-Antirrio Bridge, the world’s longest multi-span cable-stayed bridge. Reach your next destination in one and a half hours. Present-day Preveza was built on the site of ancient Vereniki town, which was founded by Pyrrhus, the King of Epirus in 290 BC. Overnight near Preveza. Day 5: Preveza – Igoumentisa – Ferry to Corfu Island Drive to Igoumenitsa, where you will hop on the ferry to the island of Corfu, known for its rich history, emerald beaches, beautiful landscapes, and delicious Mediterranean food. Cross the waters of the Ionian Sea for one and a half hours. After arriving on the island of Corfu, visit its capital Kerkira, which preserves its Venetian-style historic center. Overnight in Corfu Island. Day 6: Exploring Corfu Island – Perivoli – Kavos Beach After breakfast, head to Kavos beach, famous for the beach bars, parties, and great sandy beaches. On the way to Kavos, make a short stop at the traditional village of Perivoli. Enjoy some free time by the beach to soak up the sun and dive into the blue waters of the sea. Overnight in Kalabaka. Day 8: Kalbaka – Delphi – Athens From Kalabka, head towards your last destination, Delphi, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This ancient Greek archaeological site is considered to be one of the most beautiful in the world, including multiple monuments.
