The tour usually starts with a hotel pickup around 7:30 AM. Followed by a 1-2hour transfer to the Okavango Delta NG32 Concession. You will be allocated a guide/poler who will take you on an unforgettable journey through the channels of the Okavango. Born and raised in the Okavango Delta, our polers and guides show you their home which they are very passionate and knowledgeable about. We support the local community in the Okavango Delta. The experienced polers take you on a journey through the delta channels. Enjoy the peace of the delta in a Mokoro. At lunchtime, you stop for a picnic meal on one of the islands before your guide takes you on a nature walk where we hope to see more animals. Feel the peace and tranquility of the Okavango surrounded by hippos and serenaded by the abundant bird life, before heading back to Maun. If you are all about seeing as many animals as possible, then this daytrip is NOT for you. Although we usually see a few animals, the main focus of the tour is to show you the nature and landscape of the delta watersystem. This tranquil and peaceful excursion is a break to the usually hectic safari days. In a canoe and on a walk you don't cover a wide area and you travel much slower. Therefore animal sightings are much less frequent and you will not see predators. We often see hippos, impala, elephants etc. And sometimes giraffe, zebra, etc. But in the wild nothing is guaranteed and sometimes we see nothing. If you are looking for a tour that shows you lions, leopards and other big game, then you should look into a motorized excursion. But if you are looking for a relaxed and authentic way to experience what the Okavango Delta is about and if you want to be guided by local people that live in the Delta and show you their home, then this is the right tour for you.

If you don’t have the time to spend the night, then this activity is perfect for you – departing from Maun at the crack of dawn on a safari vehicle, you’ll head out to the reserve with your guide.   Moremi Game Reserve is home to some of the world’s greatest species of wildlife, and is excellent for game viewing and bird watching. The park contains all major naturally occurring herbivore and carnivore species in the region, and has over 400 species of birds, many migratory and some endangered. As well, both Black and White Rhino, while rare to spot, have been recently re-introduced, making this reserve a “Big Five” destination (meaning it contains lions, leopards, rhinoceros, elephants, and Cape buffalo).   Enjoy a break in the middle for a light lunch before you continue on your exploration, passing around lagoons and pools along the river channels as well as some flat plains. Head back to Maun in late afternoon after a full and exciting day immersed in nature.

You will be transferred to the mokoro station by 4WD open sided safari vehicle (about an hour) where you will meet your mokoro poler. Upon arrival at the mokoro station, your mokoro poler will give a briefing about the mokoro excursion. You will then glide along myriad water channels in a mokoro (dug-out canoe) looking for wildlife and bird species which inhabit the delta. It is ideally suited as transport in the Delta as it can move quietly through shallow water, being pushed by a boatman using a long pole. The mokoro excursion is a very popular activity in the Okavango Delta among guests who travel to Botswana. It is an opportunity to fully experience the sounds and sights of nature without running the risk of scaring off animals with a motor and is thus a highly recommended expedition for photographers. Guides that command mokoro are highly knowledgeable about the environment and as such these trips are considered safe and enjoyable. There will be much to see from water-based animals and other wild animals such as zebra, impala, elephant, kudu, giraffe, waterbuck, hippo, and crocodile. Stop to enjoy a picnic breakfast at a scenic spot at the gate before entering the protected reserve for your game drive. After passing the buffalo fence, you'll begin to see the wildlife. Stop at another scenic location for lunch and continue your game viewing while eating. After lunch, head back out on your game drive until it is time to return to Maun. Upon arrival in Maun, you will be dropped off at your preferred stop.

We offer you the chance to view wildlife from an open safari vehicle accompanied by a professional guide. This trip is very popular among guests with limited time. Departing from Maun in the early morning, we will pick you up form your hotel and do a short briefing about your trip before heading to Moremi Game Reserve. Moremi Game Reserve is about 100km from Maun, and you can expect to spend 5 to 6 hours of the day on a safari game drive. We offer tea, coffee, packed breakfast and lunch, bottled water and soft drinks. Moremi Game Reserve is commonly described as one of the most beautiful wildlife reserves in Africa, possibly in the world. However it is the great diversity of plant and animal life that makes Moremi Game Reserve so well known and increasingly more popular every year. The Moremi Game Reserve covers much of the eastern side of the Okavango Delta. A surprising amount of game can be viewed on these trips. Warm clothes are necessary during the winter months and rain gear during the rainy season (late November to late March). After passing through the “Buffalo Fence” an hour out of Maun you will enter some of the top wildlife areas that Botswana has to offer. Your guide will stop a little before we reach the park gate in order to have tea, coffee and a light breakfast. Before you have lunch at just around 1100am you will do 2 hours boat cruise at Moremi Xakanaxa. At around 1:00pm your guide will pick a scenic spot for you to have a delicious packed lunch. We also supply a cooler box with ice for any extra drinks you may wish to take. Moremi is one of the accessible areas with amazing wildlife, animals and bird species. The wildlife highlights differ from day to day and amongst them are leopards, lions, wild dogs, kudus, waterbucks, elephants, buffaloes, impalas. Birdlife is quite amazing in the area with birds such as secretary bird, hornbill, lapwing, vulture, African jacana, African fish eagle, hamerkop, and crested crane amongst many other species. After a game drive in the reserve, you will be transferred back to Maun and dropped off at your place of accommodation.
