Both visits were surprisingly good. The salt mine tour taught me about a salt mine formation, how it was extracted, the importance of ventilation & safety among others. This tour also included a visit to a small fossil and rock formation museums which were very interesting too. The second tour to the Salt Cathedral...I can only say that...it was marvelous. I thought there was only a cave excavation with a cross at the altar location, in other words a big church underground; but it was more than that…it included the fourteen Jesus stations which describe how much he suffered before being killed. It is a processional and spiritual visit, of course if you believe in God. Everything is underground and made me think of the mine workers faith, their craftmanship & delicacy to carve out all these spaces. The stories about the miners are great. The lowest level includes chapels for praying, shops & restaurants. Even for the non-believers, I recommend this visit. You will not be disappointed.

An unforgettable experience, this Mine is beautiful and magical, the person who explained to us about the place made us delve into the history of the town of Nemocón and we are fascinated by all the learning that can be obtained, in addition to seeing the place where the film of The 33 until your skin crawls from seeing everything these miners had to go through, plus the guide knows how to tell the story which makes it more exciting. One hundred percent recommended and it is a totally different experience from the Salt Cathedral.
