Join a local guide to discover the must-see sights of Cartagena, a city full of history with vestiges of different periods and styles. Explore the city's historic center, Roman Theatre, and more on this free walking tour. Meet your guide at the Plaza del Puerto de Cartagena, next to the flag. The first thing you will see is the port itself, the hallmark of this 3,000-year-old city and the reason for its past and present wealth. Continue walking along the sea until you reach the area of the Naval Museum, where Isaac Peral’s prototype submarine is located. From there, walk to the Plaza Héroes de Cavite, with its imposing obelisk that pays homage to the fallen. Walk to the Town Hall Square, with its masterful Town Hall, one of the jewels of the city’s modernism. Then, walk into the historic center of the city towards its main monument: the Roman Theatre. After this obligatory stop, continue walking towards the heart of the city, discovering some of the busiest places in the city, such as the Plaza San Francisco, a key place for gastronomy and leisure in Cartagena. From the Plaza San Francisco, access the Roman Forum district, where you will have the opportunity to climb up to the Cerro del Molinete hill to enjoy both its views and the Archaeological Park that is located there. From there, border the hill to access Santa Florentina street, with its bakeries and famous churreria, which connects to the Calle Mayor of Cartagena, the heart of the historic center of the city. End the tour next to one of the city’s emblematic buildings: the Gran Hotel.
