The first stop of the day is to the picturesque surrounding of Góðdafoss waterfall. The waterfall is winder than it is high and curves in a crescent shape. Góðafoss is noteworthy for a symbolic role in Icelandic history, when a local chieftain threw his pagan statues into the falls, representing the moment Icelanders adopted christianity. We continue onto Lake Mývatn and view this unique landscape from a special viewing point. The Mývatn area and its strange landscape was heavily affected by volcanic forces, with ancient eruptions resulting in the pseudo craters that dot the lake and surrounding areas. The highlight of the day is arguably our visit to Mývatn Nature Baths, the blue lagoon of the north. The water here is naturally heated by geothermal forces below the surface and is said to have healing properties. Lounge and relax in the various pool areas and enjoy spectacular views of Mývatn. We return to Akureyri and our tour ends at your cruise ship.

Next, we will explore the beauty of Lake Mývatn, where we can appreciate stunning sights such as Skútustaðagígar, also known as pseudo craters. This unique phenomenon can only be found in a few places around the world, including Iceland, Hawaii, one in the Azores, and even on the planet Mars. Additionally, we will visit Dimmuborgir, an area of extraordinary lava formations. Finally, we will have the opportunity to visit the enchanting Grjótagjá cave to admire the hot blue river. The adventurous can even take a photo standing on two tectonic plates. We will visit the Hverir geothermal area, where many smoking fumaroles and boiling mud pots can be seen. The trip will end at the Nature Mývatn Baths, where you can relax in the steam baths and bathe in the geothermal water. Lake Myvatn Classic tour travels through some of the most spectacular and unique landscapes in Iceland. This 4th biggest lake in Iceland is surrounded by lava fields, craters, panoramic views and amazing bird life. A day at Lake Myvatn is a day to remember. The tour departs from Akureyri. The first stop gives you the best views over Akureyri and Eyjafjörður. After a short photo stop we drive on to Goðafoss waterfall. One of Iceland´s most beautiful and uniquely shaped waterfalls. Here we tell you why the falls are important in Icelandic history and give you enough time to explore the area close up. Then we head on to Myvatn. We stop at the pseudo craters for a short while before continuing on to Dimmuborgir. Dimmuborgir is a unique and very interesting area. Visitors are given time to walk among the unusual lava sculptures, pillars and caves. Our guides know everything about this area and will be happy to walk with you and explain how the area was created 2,500 years ago, as well as tell you a few folktales about the local trolls. After a lunch break overlooking Dimmuborgir, we visit the former nature baths located on the tectonic plates between Europe and America. The last volcanic eruption in Myvatn was in 1984 from the volcano Krafla and lava from this eruption is visible everywhere you look. Hverir is an area of bubbling sulphur mud pits and steaming vents, watch your step as you explore this unique area. You will have the option to go into the geothermal Forest lagune and soak in the picturesque nature lagune just on the outskirts of Akureyri. Note that entrance fee for the lagune is not included in tour price. During the winter months the frost, low lying sun and often snow add something extra to this amazing tour of Myvatn.

Day 1: Golden Circle and South Coast The adventure begins with a pickup in Reykjavik then visit the popular Golden Circle attractions of Thingvellir, Geysir, and Gullfoss. Then make your way to the impressive South Coast where you will be greeted by the magnificent waterfalls of Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss. Explore Reynisfjara black sand beach with the glorious Reynisdrangar peaks and visit the basalt column cave before reaching your accommodation for the night. Day 2: Vik, Skaftafell, and Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon After breakfast at your hotel, journey further south towards the charming village of Vik. Make a stop at the unique and photogenic black sand beach of Reynisfjara. After visiting Vik, make your way to the famous Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon with its floating icebergs. The nearby Diamond beach is also on today's agenda. See icebergs that have washed ashore glistening like diamonds on the black sand beach, leaving you feeling like you just stepped into a movie scene. Your accommodation for the night will be in the South East area. Day 3: East Fjords Today is all about exploring the East Fjords of Iceland. We'll be stopping at Djupivogur fishing village. Afterwards we'll be spending the day in an authentic live history in the Wilderness Center that offers various activities, such as hiking, biking, horse riding as well as provides accommodation, restaurant and spa services. We'll be finishing the day soaking in a hot spring spa in the authentic bathhouse made from stones. Day 4: Studlagil Canyon, Myvatn, and Akureyri Drive through the wilderness of Modrudalur to make your way to the capital of the North, Akureyri. Today's highlights include a visit to Lake Myvatn, where you can enjoy a relaxing bath in the hot spring pools of Myvatn Nature Baths. Finally, see the dreamy Godafoss waterfall. Your accommodation for the night will be at a country hotel near Akureyri.  Day 5: Whale Watching, Siglufjordur, and Trollaskagi The day starts for a whale-watching adventure. After your adventure at sea, we drive through the fishing village of Siglufjordur, which is a charming village rich in history, and the Trollaskagi peninsula, with some of the best ocean scenery you will see. Make your way to your accommodation for the night in the Northwest area.   Day 6: Visit the West Iceland region The day begins with a short hike up to Grábrók, a volcano crater. Stop at Deildartunguhver hot spring, the legendary waterfall, Barnafoss, (the Children´s Waterfall), and the Hraunfossar cascade. You'll also visit Reykholt, home to Snorri Sturluson, the Icelandic historian, lawyer, politician, poet, and the author of some Icelandic Sagas. On the way back to Reykjavik you'll drive around the scenic fjord, Hvalfjörður (Whale Fjord).

We begin by stopping at Goðafoss waterfall, one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Iceland, on our way to Lake Mývatn, the lake was created by a large basaltic lava eruption 2300 years ago, and the surrounding landscape is dominated by volcanic landforms, including lava pillars and rootless vents. We take a look at Grjótagjá cave and a stop at the hot spring area at Hverarönd in Námaskarð and in the Nature Baths where you get the chance to relax in the steam baths and bathe in the geothermal water you can also take a massage in the baths. On the way back we come to the unique lava formations of Dimmuborgir which are among the most popular tourist attractions in the Lake Mývatn area, we stop also in Skútustaðagígar (pseudocraters area).
