It originated in the early 17th century when street vendors would gather by the Saigon River to sell their wares. The market was moved to its current location in 1912 and renovated in 1985. I wish there had been an option to pay for an English guide on the night tour. The ride was nice and enjoyable but I have no idea of most of the sights we were suppose to see. Overall we enjoyed it.
