We then leave Nairnshire and journey on towards Clava Cairns, a group of burial monuments that offer a glimpse into the life and rituals of Scots in the Bronze Age, over 4,000 years ago. Our Invergordon shore excursion continues on to Dores Beach, situated on the banks of Loch Ness for a quick photo stop, allowing you the opportunity for a quick bit of Nessie Hunting! Our adventure then heads to Inverness; Capital of the Highlands. We spend over an hour here, plenty of time to enjoy lunch and walk along the banks of the River Ness and perhaps get some good views of Inverness Castle. Glen Ord is the only remaining single malt whisky distillery situated in the Black Isle and is the home of Singleton Whisky. Enjoy a tour of the distillery, finishing off your Invergordon Shore Excursion with a tasting of the Singleton of Glen Ord 12-year-old whisky. We then return to Invergordon, where your Inverness, Cawdor Castle & Highland Whisky shore excursion ends.

Start your day of adventure by arriving via Port of Invergordon in the Scottish Highlands. Once there, you will be met by your friendly driver as you leave the harbour area where you'll hop into your luxurious and spacious vehicle and travel South. First stop, the famous Culloden battlefield where your driver will provide you with an informative narrative about the events that led to this battle. Take your time and feel free to visit the visitor centre shop Your next stop is the nearby Clava Cairns, a series of mysterious stone circles which are a free attraction to visit. Leaving Clava Cairns the tour heads East on single track roads to Cawdor Village and Cawdor Castle for (optional) visit and a self guided tour (handset) supported by castle staff once inside. When your visit at Cawdor Castle is complete the tour travels back through Inverness to Loch Ness for a scenic drive along the Loch with a photo stop. Maybe spot the beastie !! Take some time to wander the beautiful walled gardens, and woodlands while taking in the castle’s extensive history from 1180. The tour then turns back towards Inverness, to St. Andrew’s Cathedral, a beautiful cathedral church dating back to 1869. Take some time to admire the beautiful stained glass windows and intricately carved stonework before concluding the tour at The Ness Islands and returning home.
