Transfert Assisi to Eremo delle Carceri & San Damiano

Transfer to Eremo delle Carceri with private driver One of the most important Franciscan places in Umbria, located a few kilometers from Assisi on the slopes of Mount Subasio, the Hermitage of the Carceri is the site where Francis retreated to pray: a simple little church in the middle of the forest and natural caves that were inhabited by hermits. The convent was built in the 15th century. Some paths connect the city of Assisi to the Subasio Park and allow you to reach the Hermitage on foot to continue the walk in the forest along the so-called Viale di San Francesco, places of evocative and spiritual beauty both for the landscape and the presence of the hermit caves. Private transfer to San Damiano with private driver It was precisely in this place that Saint Francis heard the voice of Christ for the first time. The Crucifix, today kept in the basilica of Santa Chiara, said to the saint "Francis, go and repair my house which, as you see, is in ruins" (alluding to the crisis of the Church). This is also the place where the Song of Creatures was born. It is possible to organize the transfer at different times in agreement with the agency. It is not a private tour, seats are open to sales until sold out.

Assisi to Spello Bike & Wine Tour

Assisi to Spello Bike & Wine Tour

The most classic tour you can take starting from Assisi is definitely this one, from Assisi to Spello via the famous Via degli Ulivi. Leaving Assisi and shortly after the village of San Vitale, you will be surrounded by olive trees that will accompany you to Spello, the pearl of Umbria. At first you can enjoy the panoramic view of the town from the Via degli Ulivi and then immerse yourself in its characteristic alleys. There will be no shortage of points of interest, whether you choose to visit the Baglioni Chapel, frescoed by Pinturicchio, or return to ancient Rome by visiting the Villa dei Mosaici, or simply enjoy a coffee or an ice cream in front of the imposing consular gate. You will return to Assisi along quiet back roads, passing by the Sanctuary of the Sacred Tugurio of Rivotorto and the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli. Before returning, savor the best Umbrian white and red wines with bruschetta and organic olive oil. As you return to Assisi on this leisurely ride, take in the views along the panoramic road Via Degli Ulivi overlooking rows of olive trees and the valley.  Experience not bookable on Sunday, Easter and Easter Monday

Very well, and we are also grateful to the driver of the car, who told us very interesting things about the monasteries we visited. He also told us which trains we could take that afternoon to return to Rome.
