Mount Qingcheng

In the morning, your tour guide will sign your name and meet your hotel lobby at 07:30am or 12:30pm( Normally, we recommended the panda tour should go at the morning, due to have more chance to see the pandas) and transfer to Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Base, need 30 minutes driving, 15km. Chengdu's Giant Panda Breeding Research Base is home to over 80 of China's iconic pandas. Most are of the familiar black and white variety, but the Base is also home to a number of the smaller, lesser-known red pandas. You'll view the animals eating and at play in a carefully maintained habitat that is as close to their natural environment as possible. You'll also learn how scientists and ecologists are working to protect the few remaining wild pandas and expand the captive population. On that last note, over 100 bears have been born at the Base since 1987. The Base became even more important after the Sichuan earthquake of 2008, with eight bears sent here from the badly damaged Wolong reserve. Your visit provides both moral and financial support for the ongoing conservation effort. After the half day panda tour, you will have a chance to continue to visit the Leshan Buddha, Huanglongxi old town, Chengdu city & Hot Pot Lunch as a full day tour.

Qingcheng Mountain is dubbed as the "most quiet and secluded place in the world". It is the birthplace of Taoism and there are many Taoist temples to explore there. Qingcheng Mountain is divided into two mountain areas: Qingcheng Front Mountain and Qingcheng Back Mountain. They require separate tickets. The Front Mountain is where Taoist culture and cultural relics are concentrated. When visitors talk about “Qingcheng Mountain”, they often refer to the front mountain; Qingcheng Back Mountain is known for its natural scenery making it a good place for vacation and leisure.

In the morning, your driver and guide will meet you at 9:00am of your Chengdu hotel then transfer to Mount Qingcheng, need 80 minutes driving, 65km. First, we will visit the Mt.Qingcheng which is divided into two parts they are called Front Mountain and Back Mountain. The front mountain is the main part of Mount Qingcheng Scenic Area and covers about 15 square kilometers. The back mountain covers about 100 square kilometers. The clear streams, verdant woods and magnificent peaks make the back mountain very attractive. In winter, it is very cold in Mount Qingcheng; but in summer, it is so cool that Mount Qingcheng is regarded a great summer resort by many people. At this mountain we can see many cultural relics and historic sites in the front mountain and the scenery here is also very beautiful. The main attractions in the front mountain are Natural Drawing, Jianfu Palace, Tianshi Cave, Chaoyang Cave and Shangqing Palace, etc. The main attractions in the back mountain are Golden Cliff and Sky Storehouse, Goddess Cave, Clouds Caves, View of Platform Bridge, etc. Next, go to the Dujiangyan Ancient Irrigation System and need 30 minutes driving. About 2,200 years ago, Chengdu was threatened by the frequent floods caused by the flooding of the Minjiang River. So the local official of the Shu state, Li Bing, together with his son, decided to construct an irrigation system on the River t prevent flooding. After a lengthy study and years’ hard work by the local people, the great Dujiangyan Irrigation Project was completed. Nowadays, the project still plays a crucial role in draining off floodwater, irrigating farms and providing water resources for more than 50 cities in Sichuan province. When we finished the Dujiangyan tour, our guide will escort you to your hotel.

The guide will pick you up at your hotel, then drive about 1 hour to Dujiangyan scenic area and visit the great project for 2.5 hours; drive to Qingcheng mountain, visit the mountain for 3.5 hours in the afternoon, drive back to Chengdu. Dujiangyan is the oldest and only surviving no-dam irrigation system in the world; and a wonder in the development of Chinese science. The project consists of three important parts, namely Yuzui, Feishayan and Baopingkou scientifically designed to automatically control the water flow of the rivers from the mountains to the plains throughout the year. Mt. Qingcheng is one of the most famous Taoist mountains in China. It is also a very attractive and intriguing scenic spot that is covered by luxuriant and verdant trees. The mountain, which is surrounded by numerous peaks and is shaped like a city, is dubbed 'the most peaceful and secluded mountain under heaven' and combines perfectly with its evergreen scenery.

In the morning, your guide will pick you up from your hotel for a scenic 1.5-hour drive to the Dujiangyan Irrigation System, the world’s oldest surviving no-dam irrigation system, dating back over 2,200 years. As you explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site, your guide will share insights into its history, engineering marvels, and its enduring role in flood control and irrigation. Take in the breathtaking views while learning about its cultural and historical significance. After a delicious local lunch, we’ll proceed to Mount Qingcheng, one of the most sacred Taoist mountains in China, renowned for its tranquil atmosphere and lush greenery. Here, you can choose between a relaxing cable car ride or an invigorating hike up the stone staircases to discover ancient Taoist temples and pavilions nestled within the forest. Spend the afternoon immersed in the serene beauty of the mountain landscape, surrounded by pristine nature and flowing streams. As the day concludes, we’ll ensure a comfortable return to your hotel, leaving you with unforgettable memories of Dujiangyan and Mount Qingcheng.

Qingcheng Mountain-Dujiangyan Scenic Area is a AAAAA-level tourist attraction in China. It was listed as a World Cultural Heritage in 2000 and was listed as a World Natural Heritage in 2006 as part of the Sichuan Giant Panda Habitat. Qingcheng Mountain is backed by the Minshan Snow Ridge and faces the western Sichuan plain. It is surrounded by peaks and looks like a city wall. The forest is deep and dense, and it is evergreen all year round. There are thousands of red stairs and winding paths. It is the birthplace of Taoism. Dujiangyan Scenic Area is located at the exit of the Minjiang River in the west of the Chengdu Plain in Sichuan Province and the west of Dujiangyan City. Dujiangyan is a world-famous ancient Chinese water conservancy project. There are many scenic spots and cultural relics nearby, such as Erwang Temple, Fulong Temple, Anlan Cable Bridge, Yulei Pass, Lidui Park, Yulei Mountain Park, Lingyan Temple, Nanqiao and Dujiangyan City Ancient District. Over the past 70 years, the Qingcheng Mountain-Dujiangyan Scenic Area has undergone tremendous changes. As the saying goes: "The spring scenery of Jinjiang River comes from heaven and earth, and the floating clouds of Yulei change from ancient times to the present."
