Montes de Málaga

This bike tour of Malaga heads off from the central Plaza de la Marina for a 3-hour ride around the city’s main attractions. Riding with a fun and professional guide, benefit from personalized service as you get to know the city. And don't worry, Malaga's roads and paths are lovely and flat, making for easy riding.  Suitable for all ages, stop every few hundred meters for sightseeing and to rest your legs. While you ride, your guide will show you the historic details of Malaga and tell you fascinating facts about the day-to-day life of this busy seaside city. See symbolic places such as the Castle Gibralfaro and the fresh market Atarazanas, and enjoy riding along the lovely beach promenade facing the Mediterranean Sea.

Begin your tour with a ride along the canal to leave the hustle and bustle of Malaga. Pass attractions like the football stadium and botanical garden on your way to the mountains. Head off-road where Montes de Malaga Natural Park begins and enjoy your ride on a remote and quiet track. The lovely woods and a fantastic view will accompany you on the rocky way up to the top. Reaching the end of the track, have the opportunity to take a break. If you'd like, get snacks and refreshments at a restaurant located in the mountains. While at the top relax and enjoy the views of the landscape.  After taking in the views, select how you would like to go downhill, easily on asphalt or the more exciting way off-road. While cycling down again, go along the coast and across the port, before concluding your journey at its original starting point.

At Club Hípico Málaga we organize routes adapted to all levels, in small groups and always with a professional tour guide. The experience takes place in the Montes de Málaga Natural Park, a protected environment ideal for unwinding. Along the route, you will enjoy trails surrounded by pine trees, with sections leading to natural viewpoints from which you can see the historic center of Malaga and the bay. Our horses are perfectly trained and we select the route according to the experience of the participants. Whether it's your first time or you already have a more advanced level, we offer a safe and enjoyable ride.

Begin your e-bike tour by first cycling through the city of Málaga until the foot of the mountain. From there on, an ambitious climb awaits you, which is not problem since you'll have the assistance of your e-motor. Going up the hill, enjoy the views of the city, including the football stadium and the botanical garden. Easily ride up on a well maintained, light traffic road. Upon reaching the peak, an observation deck awaits you, where you can take memorable pictures and have a break with some refreshments. Roll downhill and enjoy the pleasant winding passages. Reach Olías, one of the area's famous white villages hidden in the mountains. Take the opportunity to meander through and experience some local culture.  Get back to sea level and arrive at the small fishermen's village El Palo. Take another break in one of the modest restaurants located directly by the sea. Afterward, take a comfortable ride along the coast and visit the remarkable harbor, before returning to the meeting point of your ride.

After you have been picked up by the tour guide at the meeting point and each has been given a bike we´ll start of the adventure by heading off to one of the most remarkable and rugged areas, Monte Coronado. You´ll have some freestyle time to explore this ancient prehistoric site, before we continue in the mountains behind that will lead us to Presa del Limonero. After a small break at Presa del Limonero to take in the stunning views of the lake, overseeing the city and the coastline, wel´ll continue to the forest area of Montes de Malaga. In the forest area, we´ll climb up and up, passing ruines of old wineries and landhouses, until we have reached the highway. Here we take some time to take in the stunning view of the highest mountain of Malaga City, Monte San Anton, before heading down either on the highway or though the countryside. The tour will end close to the meeting point before saying our goodbyes.
